Just to clarify, so I know I understand completely what I’ve been told. That once the battery has reached full 14.6 v ,
And then has rested long enough for it to get below 14.2v it is then safe to use it unconditionally?

There is absolutely no need to wait. Once you've charged it, start discharging it.
