MPPT to battery fusing

Does anyone see an issue with fusing the negative wire from the MPPT to battery rather than the positive assuming everything else is sized properly? The reason I ask is the way my busbars will be setup it would be easier to place the fuse on the negative wire. Thanks.

It will work the same. Assuming that it's not a negative grounded system.
And since it's not industry standard. I would make sure that it's labeled accordingly. In case someone else needs to work on the system.
