Increases the humidity! I do HVAC. Most of my junk mini splits and cheaper central units come from China. You'd think they could throw something better than that together. Just keep a boat load of junk heading this way.

The comfort cooling effect it provides is really the radiative cooling. Melting the ice with fans isn't really a good idea though, as you allude to.
