I am building a new 200AH battery and I hooked it up for the first time with my Overkill Solar BMS. I think the BMS is telling me it is 100AH instead of 200AH. Is that accurate? Do I misunderstand it?

Until you program it, the BMS knows nothing about your battery. 100Ah is just what was programmed into it when if shipped to you.
Also, until you program it and cycle it a few times, the % number it gives you will be incorrect as well.

Great thank you. By "cycle it", do you mean a few load tests?
Just a full charge to full discharge and back. You could do that with a load test. Did you Top Balance the cells? The manual describes the process, and it needs to be done, and you shouldn't take shortcuts with it. Read that section carefully.

What does this error mean when I attempt to save a config file to the bms?

Your battery capacity should be 200000 mAh not 200 mAh.

Not sure why its complaining about cycles.

Thanks Sandals. I used the "Read BMS" button to get those initial settings. I assumed it got all that info from the batteries, but that's seems amazing.

Set your Total Battery Capacity to 200000 and Cycle Capacity to 180000. Press BMS Write to update.
