I have a Newpowa 400W solar kit, Renogy 200 AH batter, 40 amp solar controller, 2200w pure sine inverter, fuse block, and a battery disconnect switch. I’m having trouble understanding what connects to what.

I’ve seen if you buy a Renogy 400w kit it comes with 10 amp inline fuse so I bought that as well, Lastly I have a 140 amp split charge relay. I just realized my inverter doesn’t have an in-line fuse so What is a recommendation on fuse size for that, im Struggling to wrap my mind around all this. Newpowa says there solar kit has a 30 amp inline fuse between the battery and the solar controller, but that was intended for a pwm and not my 40 amp mppt.

It would be so helpful for some guidance on how To connect all of this, I appreciate any help that comes my way.

A 2000 watt inverter from nominal 12V will draw about 183 amps a full power (12 x 183 = ~2200 watts to allow for losses in the inverter). A 230 amp fuse would likely be appropriate IMO but see what other people say.

When you connect your inverter to DC from a completely discharged state the capacitors in the inverter will slurp up quite a few amps for a brief period. That will add to your fuse rating but it can be avoided, search the forum for 'precharging'.

When it comes to hooking it all up, take a look at some of Will's plans in the DIY Solar Blueprints shown at the top of the forum page, that will give you an idea of how to wire things up. I'm sure someone else will come along and be able to do up some diagrams specifically for what you have. My drawing skills are bad but if no one else does, I can do something up for you.
