Xuba Electronics: DEAL - 280AH LiFePo4 cells. Purchase & Review

@Steve_S How long did it take you to get that 180W tester? I ordered from a different provider and never did receive it.
Mine took 30-40 days off AliExpress just got it 5 days ago, just like Steve's and with bluetooth control

These Batteries look like a great deal. Wonder if anyone can help me understand more re: my pre-order concerns:

A new batch of LifePO4s are in over at Xuba;
I received a good quote I am also questioning:

Got a link to a Sale Order option set up for my "initial payment"
for 8) 3.2v 280 Ah LifePO4s 2 set of 4 total price: $661.36
w Shipping Fee (via sea) : $332.00 ... for $993.00 Total "initial payment"
Insurance: 0 "Trade Assurance" box left un checked.

I need to understand more before proceeding. I do not mind paying more.
I wonder if this is normal procedure? or possibly some new USA hoop jump?

Pitched Sales Order at top says: initial payment amount $993.36
shipping date: 15 days after supplier receives initial payment
messages said sooner/ will look closer

Receipt says: "DDP: You can receive the goods at the destination place, your supplier will do the import customs clearance at the destination port and also afford all the fees including import duty." That is printed on the sales order.

BUT THAT DDP info. CONFLICTS: with nice sales woman stating:
"When you receive the package, you need to pay extra duty tax. For specific duty tax, you need to consult the local customs."
with added: "What I can do is to reduce the declared value as much as possible."

I did cordially ask for an explanation of this conflicting information.

MAYBE this is standard protocol? and will work out fine; but I do have a business background, and I want to understand what I am getting into before I pay with my credit card. Is there some new USA hoop jumps that make it hard for the seller to give a solid quote? ...or is this normal procedure? ... If I have to pay extra duty and/or fees and tax (that might be fine with me); How do I take care of that? Has anyone else ordering these LifePO4s got a bill for the extra tax and duty fees upon delivery, or before delivery via some kind of email records and credit card payment?

Feedback and Guidance Requested: I will share as I learn more. Please share your info or experience, if you can help me and other forum members learn more about how do USA fee get worked out !

Wonder if anyone can help me understand this piece: Might be nothing/ but would like to know more details:

Did you ask for a Air Freight quote, too? For my 4 cell order, Air quote was $69 more DDP. I paid nothing extra on my end.. Half the time shipping and for sure it was DDP..... Worth the extra IMO.....

I am wondering if most of the shipments mention about came to t he USA via air freight. I ask for both sea ship quote, and air ship, ...and only got sea ship quote. but one buddy in private is saying air frieght ship has been way easier customs hoop for him v sea shipping can be potential headache. Are mot of these good story connected to air freight shipments? Any coming by sea?

Come on pick one thread or the other. When you ask the same question in 3 different threads, I get notifications for each of them that I have posted in.

Just ask air frieght in quote. It is really not that hard. You can trust Amy. She will get it done for you

all of mine to Canada (3) have been UPS air freight
Mine was FedEx Air, by their tracking number.... But there is a Korean Air tag on the box to LAX.
FedEx probably subs it out to which ever Airline has extra room on their Airplanes coming this way.
At least that makes sense to me, a Win-Win for both of them....

Amy is saying that sea is $324 DDP. UPS is $532 plus extra duty will be required. What is this extra duty? I'm in WA USA. Did others that used air pay duty?

People, please understand Xuba does not make a large mark up on the cells they sell. Their primary business is supplying large quantities of cells and battery to large buyers who arrange their own shipping. Normally by ocean freight to their own warehouse. In these cases Xuba sells FOB, ie all charges after the buyer takes delivery in China are at the buyers' expenses.

Amy is doing all of us on this forum, who are small customers even if we order 16 or 32 cells, a major favor by selling to us at all. She does her best to ship at the best price, but after the shipment gets to the US she has no way to have any control or knowledge about what customs, port, dock, duty, remote delivery, or any other fees are imposed by US or other countries' entities.

From experience, few if any duties and fees are added to small shipments coming to the US by Fedex/UPS or other door to door air services. Generally these items are for personal use. Sometimes duty, etc may be added, but no-one, least of all Amy knows what that might be. Trying to save a few hundred dollars by shipping ocean freight exposes the buyer to many more fees, because ocean freight goods are often not just for personal use. Again, these fees cannot be known to sellers in China, so how can they possibly include them in a shipping quote? Its simply not possible.

If you don't want surprises you always have the option of engaging a Chinese shipping company yourself. Your shipper can pick up the items from Xuba. You pay the FOB price to Amy, and she as the seller is done. Then you have your shipper deal with shipping. This is obviously way more hassle and expense. And you are then likely to have to pay a large number of fees once the shipment gets to the US. No-one can tell you precisely what those fees will be. This is one reason large importers have to post a large customs bond - it ensures you'll pay whatever duty, etc the local authority levies. Unfair? You bet. Anyway around it? Only if you are really big and order full container loads, not just a few cells.

Amy, as are a large number of other Chinese sellers, is an excellent person. She really values her customers and will do all she can to have satisfied and happy customers. But what she is simply unable to do, no matter how much you ask her, is guarantee that US and local authorities will not add duty or other fees onto your shipment. No-one can do that. Forget about DDP and all that nonsense, really. Pay the extra to have your order sent by Fedex/UPS or some other door to door carrier. You might still be hit with some unpredictable fees, but the chances are more in your favor.

The above is not theoretical info. I've done this for the past 10 years. Regardless of these unknown fees, buying direct from China is still an incredible deal. If you can't understand this, just pay twice the price and buy local, from importers who have dealt with this. Or wait until items are so popular that Costco and Walmart import containers full and sell them at lower prices than you can get them shipped from China ;-)

Took two weeks from order, shipped EMS Express / Canada Post delivered. Shipped FEB.22 Arrived at my box on FEB 28 no extra fees.

ANYONE / EVERYONE: I cannot find a Manual / Doc for the Power Supply. It's a LiteOn PS2751-5Q LF
Yes, I know it's a hot swappable server power supply used by Dell, HP & Others but I want the specs / docs / manual and had no luck with google or duckduck.

I just purchased 4 cells yesterday from Amy. She said once she recieves payment they will be shipped within 72 hours. FWIW I did sea shipping because I'm not in a hurry for them.

My UPS air was DDP all fees included
With all respect, please don't fool yourself or mislead others. Your items arrived, you didn't have to pay any fees. This was certainly not because you had arranged DDP or you or the seller had made that happen. If you had actually set up things so that all fees were paid you would have had to do a mountain of indecipherable paperwork in advance. What happened is your items were shipped and treated by UPS as personal use items, and they effectively bypassed the formalities of commercial importation. 90 times out of 100 this happens with small orders. It does not mean you or the seller made it happen. It just happened. Which is great for you, and others who order the same way. Congratulations.

DO not agree at all.
Well I could care less, seller guarantees this is the "to the door price with all shipping customs etc included" and they have delivered 3 times on that promise. Amy is not relying on good luck with UPS and entry into Canada for this, not a chance.

And do not tell me I am misleading others KauaiMolokai. I am the one who found these cells for this forum and this company stated strongly the shipping was to my door all customs etc included. UPS nearlly always charges me/my company duties for packages, the reverse of what you state, ,more like duties charged to me 9 out of 10 times. So 3 deliveries of 5K dollars plus of batteries with no surprise charges is evidence enough for me.

I also can agree with this that's it's not a fluke. Dongguan Lighting also guaranteed all fees in to me as well. It's not like we got them for free though. The fees are just added on into the freight charge we all pay. When it comes into canada its cleared as "free domicile"

BAD DEVICE REPORT
CRAPADITY ! Bad advert and worse !!!
THE CELL CHARGER
/me doing a severe Fred Flinstone Ruckus

Then there was the Cell Charger
Grey 3V -15V 50A :
voltage meets range 3v-15v with anti-reverse protection
Arrived 2 WEEKS Late, after paying for expedited service, got lame excuses and Bull Phooey !
Arrived in good condition BUT they didn't even bother to include the 120VAC Power Cord !
Otherwise it appears OK, it IS a LiteOn powersupply which is good.
IC Cogogo ! NEVER EVER AGAIN ! Bought through their eBay store.

DEVICE REPORT !
OK here we go.
  1. It arrived VERY LATE ! My total was $125 including Expedited Shipping ! Yeah what a pile ! Paid extra as I needed it FAST.
  2. NO AC Power cord supplied, luckily uses a standard computer power supply cable.
  3. No Documents, Manual or even simple instructions. (got to use their AD as the "manual")
  4. Labels cover it in CHINESE ! I speak 5 languages but NOT Chinese.
  5. Adjustable Voltage 3-15V BULL HOOEY ! IT IS NOT !!! Sure you can manually dial it up or down with a screw driver but ONLY 3V +/-, try to dial it down to anything below 12V and it starts busing and you can hear things that sound like frying bacon ! SEEMS YOU CANNOT DO INDIVIDUAL CELLS ! 4S packs yes @ 14.6V ... FALSE ADVERT POINT They seem to allow for adjustment for 4-Cells to be between 3.2-4.2V X 4 cells 12.8V to 16.8 and I have my doubts about that too.
  6. Suspiciously, on closer examination, this seems to be a Used PS refurbished out of a Dell / HP Server
I CANNOT RECOMEND or SUGGEST This product due to what I got. I did point out that I ordered this and some people bought based on that BUT BEFORE I actually received it (yesterday). Folks, we got PHOOKERED ! @ghostwriter66 sorry dear but at least it's Oil Co money that you wasted. Maybe you or someone else can translate the printing on this thing.

BTW: I'm already quite PEROLATED and do not need / want any "Anti-China BS" or any of that kid of nonsense, so keep it to yourselves unless you have something constructive or positive to contribute. IC COGOGO in my opinion now is a SHLOCK DEALER ! Use them at YOUR OWN RISK !

PHOTO of my Charger... FULL SIZED for readability, in the hopes that someone can translate this.
MY Voltgae-Current-Adjustable charger - 3-12V-50A.jpg

Thanks in Advance for assistance with the printed verbage.
So much for "Individual" cell testing ! The load tester, sure but charging single cells is NOT an option because of this piece of Sh**.

Top text says:

Do not connect the battery in reverse polarity. Damage due to wrong connection is not covered by warranty.

Bottom text, I think:

Connect the metal case with the black clip (or metal case is connected with black clip) (or something like that, maybe this makes sense to you). Do not allow contact between the positive pole of the battery and the housing, this will short the battery and can cause fire/damage to the charger. Do not connect this charger to a battery over 20V.

The two labels at the bottom

Left: Current regulation
Right: Voltage regulation

I think this is mostly correct. I'm a bit rusty...

I got the same charger a couple of weeks ago. I have not really tried it out yet. For a full pack it seemed to work alright but I have not changed the voltage yet.

I appreciate LukeVader, mndare, and KauaiMolokai comments on the UPS, vs sea DDP questions. That is all good information, thanks.

I wonder if there is a difference between Canada and USA, and the current virus situation that may explain the difference between the two different experiences. However, I don't need an answer.

I am going to do UPS and hope they don't throw extra taxes on it. I just can't wait for ship. I'm too impatient for the stuff.
