Xuba Electronics: DEAL - 280AH LiFePo4 cells. Purchase & Review

Hey anyone know if the bolts to connect the bus bars are M4 ?

From the datasheet (the most recent one, there is an older one circulating):

"Remark: The pole is a double aluminum pole structure. The internal screw with size M6 is used in the
poles. The anti-torsion of pole is 8Nm. The torsion should be less than 8Nm when used. The
effective thread hole depth is 6mm."

The CONFIRMATION has been removed at the request of EVE who was upset that I posted it.
What reason there would be behind that ? I dunno, but whatever, their choice.
Such a reaction is a Big RED Flag but what it means I dunno.
Good Luck everyone.

Here's what I'm using for these cells...It's pretty tight in terms of height for the middle cells...but it fits...snug like. These are $60 Canadian (or $42 US) on Amazon.

Great idea!

Can you confirm that those are the 280Ah cells?

Battery BOX / Casing options: MANY Variations
(I don't know this company or products, just came across it.)
maybe good, maybe not.

I was going to say you could hook 2 boxes together in series for 16, but the BMS wires would be harder to do. It's still doable but not as easy. Maybe use Cat 6 cable to connect the BMS to the 2nd box.

Thats what I was thinking - put a RG45 jack on both boxes and you could connect them that way ...

YEP - thats virtually the same thing I do but using HUSKEY boxes instead -- but the boxes are identical to the DeWalts - heck probably same Chinese factory just with different labels ... GOOD JOB ... BTW - what size are those batteries? They look ever so slightly larger than mine ...

Asked about 16cell boxes, here's the reply:

"
My supplier can provide customization. If it is iron, even one box can accept customization.

There is only one problem, if the box is too big, the freight will be calculated according to the volume, the freight will be a little high."

Get one of these Cat 6 extension cables and cut it in half. Wire one half to the BMS and the other half to the cells.
That gives you a plug and jack in a handy package.
I should order some just to have on hand it I need to do something like that in the future.

The issue is that I just don't like dangling wires anywhere outside the case .. if you put 2 RG45 cable jacks on each of the boxes you don't have to worry about that at all -- unles i am misunderstanding your concept ... PLUS witgh my way if anything ever happened to the cable you can get another one ANYWHERE ... with your way you would have to take time to remove the cable from the battery or BMS and install a new one of the same sort

What what what???? this brings up many questions and I hate to get into it but how does EVE even know about your post? Why would EVE even care about your post? As of today I have still not heard anything back from EVE on my email request. Which is why I was wondering whats the email address you sent the request to? All I was trying to figure out was if it was actually EVE or if it was another email that was given to you by someone else that may look like EVE'S email address? I've said it once before, my evidence IS this site that these might not be EVE cells. I didn't say it.... @April said it. But also like Jeremiah and ghost implied earlier it's not that hard to fool people into something on the internet. All someone has to do is create a domain like evesbattery.com or evebattary.com and they can do fake verifications from that email. I know this is a very low chance it happened to you, but its still a chance. China, unfortunately is known for stealing intellectual rights from companies all the time. Even from their own companies. Have you ever heard of 3rd shifts? Together, we can get to the bottom of this if we all stick together.

So many of the cells that I have received have had the QR code scraped off and some flimsy black stuff not even taped on very well and obviously the top of the battery was hit by a grinder/polisher to make it look new and the blue wrapping looks new ... so theoretically its really like them putting lipstick on a pig .... HOWEVER - I run a full load test on every battery we get - PIG or PRINCESS - scraped QR code or not -- and every one of them has met or exceeded the rating ... to me THATS the most important thing ...

I use to be concerned about that - why is the QR code scratched off - and if i asked 3 manufacturers I got 5 answers ... or if i type in the QR code info that readable why does it come up to another company, etc etc ... some of the answers I got made sense .. that the QR codes are Manufacturer specific and Company A that normally sells directly to the USER (you)puts their marketing QR codes on the battery so you can order more stuff from them -- BUT Company B down the street is running low on 280's or 200's and went across the street and bought a few thousand 200's and NOT wanting YOU to know that they did not make the battery popped/scrapped the code and then recovered it (that seems to be the best answer)...

ALSO another one is that many of these batteries are stored OUTSIDE of China in warehouses in Germany and the US and technically sold as "refurbished" (to get away from customs fees and taxes, etc) and they pop-scrap the code in order to "fake" customs (you go girl!!) BUT they are actually still 100% Brand New Grade A...

Now of course if you get one that looks like its been through a drunken brawl on Saturday night and woke up somewhere Saturday half dressed and face down in the gutter - meaning - the Top is all scracthed up, the QR code is gone, there is scraping all over the blue tape where obviously it was used for something -and the black gasket on top won't even stay stuck down - then YES - you probably got one from someone that is trying to put one over on you ... Of course - once again - do a full check - if a 200 or 280 comes up with 200 or 280 respectively - then you just got battery that's ugly but still performs within the specs where its suppose to.

YES - like all of you - i get emotionally erect when the battery boxes show up and i tear into it like its XMAS morning and YES "i love the smell of LiFePO4 in the morning" and do get so ever disappointed when my new Red Ryder BB gun looks like its been shot buy someone else ((YEP I have intermingled several Movies into one sentence) ... BUT if the RED Ryder BB gun shoots straight (voltage) and shoots strong (aH) then I am fine with it ..

Gosh Ghostie, you sure have a way with imagery ! I bet your a hell of a blast at a party.

That looks real good! I just wonder about heat build up with the BMS. I would check it early and often once you have it running just to be safe. Especially under a high load.
Good point...there is about an inch separation from the batteries...the BMS is 200amp rated...It's for my cottage...which we can't go to yet because of the virus...but when I get there I plan to monitor that and see how hot things get with full draw. I could also attach it on the outside and will do so if needed. I see this BMS is the brand that Will P tested... but was disappointed that his low temp cut-off didn't work... on mine it does work though...fortunately. Cheers.

Can you confirm that those are the 280Ah cells?
Yes 280ah...though I got them from Dongguan Lightning Energy...as Xuba was out of theirs when I ordered. They have the exact same code...so I'm pretty sure they are identical.

They are 280ah ones....I believe same as the ones from Xuba...they have the exact same code...O2YCB66710000J...I got impatient and ordered them from another supplier (Dongguan Lightning Energy) when Amy ran out...but I'm pretty sure they are identical.

I actually still believe there is only ONE LiFePO4 plant in China and they make it for everyone ... LOL

Yeah, if it was that easy to setup a plant why wouldn’t someone just do that in the US or elsewhere.?

Never mind, that’s too crazy an idea to ever work! ?

So we have a pretty good size office in Beijing and I will tell you that these (4) 280aH batteries that we get for $500 delivered and we think is a great deal -- actually runs my teams guys over there about $45-50 a battery IF they don't barter ... and the only reason that they can do that is because the average wage is about 10K USD a year - no unions - no EPA - NO OSHA and the work conditions SUCK ... if we did the same $45 280aH 3.2V battery here in the states it would run easily $250-$300 a piece ... so thats why NO US company (to include BattleBorn) makes the actual energy cell here in the US - they do like we all do - IMPORT the stuff in and through a label on it ..

Has anyone tried the 120 AH ones? The price per AH is very close. I'm a bit skiddish to try them if nobody else on the forum has tried that yet.

A XUBA UPDATE
Dear Steven,
According to your suggestion, I have applied to the boss. For friends in the forum, we will give double bus bars. The boss agreed with my application.
Sorry to disturb you!
Good night!
Amy
She was just following up on my suggestions and got this OK'd from upstairs too. She's already nailed down offering cases which should be posted next week hopefully. IF/When they will carry Chargery BMS' and related hardware I dunno, she's still working on that, but they are in contact with Jason @ Chargery so who knows.
