And my conclusion was/is since I’m not going to quit driving and at the mileage I do in a year in a car I have a six times greater risk of dying in a car accident than covid (at that time; less now)

Who are “they?”
What I read and hear from experts is the mRNA vaccines are way less safe than a flu shot. There are actual correlations that can’t yet be considered as probable or not because we don’t have the data.

Regulated capitalism is corrupt. A free market especially in today’s media environment is the best method of controlling prices and responsibility in the marketplace. The fly in the ointment is the increasingly large portion of the population with more education than the past and way less ability to use their minds. Shockingly, somewhat by choice. Being a willing participant in being a victim makes one culpable imho

John Locke spent a lot of ink on that concept- do whatever you want as long as your actions do not diminish the rights of another.

Your conclusion ignores that since you drove a lot, you would likely be a better driver, able to anticipate the mistakes of others.

Sadly you are mistaken and I really want you to be right as I dislike bureaucracy. At best unregulated would mean that contracts are not enforceable, at worst we would look at a robber baron society.

I don't know what to tell you, it is unlikely you will accept mainstream expert opinion, while I feel I am unqualified to question those experts.

(I've seen bigger lies from the anti-vaxxers. But plenty of lies and bad advice from our overlords. They do not put the individual's health first.)

The question is not always that simple, our (in)actions can and do affect others, but I will agree that at some point we have to continue with our lives. The point for me was when any one who wanted the vaccine, had it. As for personal freedom I like to look at things like clothing should be optional, personally I believe the state should not be allowed to tell us what we have to wear.

People lie for various reasons, the thing about science is not that it is perfect, but that it is self correcting. The reason that I (and I imagine you) don't get a say in it because I have nothing useful to contribute to the expert debate. So I just trust them and the system. Just like I trust all the experts when I step in a lift that takes me to the top of the high rise building they designed and build. Just because buildings have fallen down and lifts have failed, is not a good reason not to step in the lift.

Bogus comparison. Elevators were invented by Otis, a private company who would have gone ouy of business if their products failed, and they were sued out of existence. The other is a quasi government bereaucracy which cannot be sued, and nobody is accountable.
The guy who invented the Mrna vaccines for COVID is on record saying he has many reservations with it for long term effects.

How much greater would your chances be of dying in a car accident if you were distracted by heavy painful coughing and brain fog from covid?

Do you believe that if Donald Trump is charged and convicted of stealing documents that belong to the U.S. government and obstructed the recovery of said documents, should call for chopping off both of his hands? That seems like pretty serious theft especially since many were clearly marked TS/SCI...

So what do you think? 2 hands? ...or a hand and 20 years on the rock? When do we apply capital punishment? Treason? Would that be warranted if Trump gave some documents to MBS or Putin that pertained to Israeli nuclear secrets? You be the judge.
