Something like this wold be suitable to do a slow discharge test? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150W-Lcd...ithBBEV1Filter&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
A 100W car headlight would pull 7.25A and a 55W would pull 3.97A.Something like this wold be suitable to do a slow discharge test? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150W-Lcd-Electronic-Load-Module-60V-10A-Battery-Discharge-Capacity-Tester-M-T5N6/124023823423?_trkparms=aid=1110006&algo=HOMESPLICE.SIM&ao=1&asc=226055&meid=26215b9af3d245b99ebe073c31ad7f33&pid=100005&rk=2&rkt=12&mehot=co&sd=223943991946&itm=124023823423&pmt=1&noa=0&pg=2047675&algv=SimplAMLv5PairwiseWebWithBBEV1Filter&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
@Will Prowse reviewed that relatively recently (Early Jan?) in one of his videos and seemed to like it. I purchased one but have not tried it yet.Something like this wold be suitable to do a slow discharge test? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150W-Lcd-Electronic-Load-Module-60V-10A-Battery-Discharge-Capacity-Tester-M-T5N6/124023823423?_trkparms=aid=1110006&algo=HOMESPLICE.SIM&ao=1&asc=226055&meid=26215b9af3d245b99ebe073c31ad7f33&pid=100005&rk=2&rkt=12&mehot=co&sd=223943991946&itm=124023823423&pmt=1&noa=0&pg=2047675&algv=SimplAMLv5PairwiseWebWithBBEV1Filter&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
I think people are having more problems with the small heat-sink version and them overheating....Mine just died ...... I think it overheated ......
So much for that capacity test, trying plan B, discharge via inverter ...... using the BMS as a shunt to measure. Then I'll recharge and add hall effect or something.
I haven't run a 2nd full test, so I don't know what it would show now. I had the capacity set at 280AH and by the time I was at 13.1V for 2,6 hours the BMS was reading 00% left. My fridge shut off at 12.8V or I would have gone some more. Didn't think to reset the low voltage cutoff to the lower setting on the fridge till a couple of days later. Still after the test the BMS says my capacity is 308AH without me changing anything. I could pull up the chart that the BMS has for that whole time. IIRC, it keeps a month worth of data before it starts over writing it.all the more reason for me to design the coulomb counter module!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes. I had set my capacity to the 280AH spec of my cells and my test was from 13.9V to 12.8V. The capacity changed to 308AH, which is +10%. The cycle count went to 3.Anyone else notice the "cycles" count is odd? I'm still on first initial discharge to calibrate the BMS capacity, and yes way past the 244.64 Ah it wants to say the capacity it but its saying I've done 4 cycles already .......
Just odd.
Yes this one is much better. Trying to use the parameter changes, causes it to crash.running the one from post 1 (unless its changed since posted) is there a better one somewhere?
Cant find the version # now I'm looking but 1.5 rings a bell ....
We went over this back on page 32 of this thread...running the one from post 1 (unless its changed since posted) is there a better one somewhere?

I've about the latter half to catch up on to be honest - should read the whole lot start to finish.I know it's easy to miss things if you don't read every post.
I think you would be safe opening the new version, just to look at it. But like you said, don't change any settings, other than switch from driving mode to monitoring mode. That just changes what is shown on the "Dashboard" and is much more useful for a storage battery vs a electric bike or such. Maybe do a screenshot of the current Battery Status and then again with the new version. Then look at them both on a computer. You could open both side by side and see the differences.I've about the latter half to catch up on to be honest - should read the whole lot start to finish.
Thanks for the pointers!
Have downloaded the other android app - but at this critical point in the pack discharge I'll stick with what I've checked the settings off!
PS first discharge almost done - hope BMS calculates the capacity .... will fit a shunt before recharging.
BLS cells seem well balanced although a little difference below 3v (2.79-2.93 at this moment) 11.39v
Looks good Steve. I like how you are responsive to people's needs and able to make changes like this. Something that gets lost with some bigger companies. If I need another one, I know who I'm contacting for it.I shipped a customized 8ga BMS this morning, I think it turned out good.
