The lowest amapcity on the NEC table for common types of copper wire is 30 amps for 10 AWG and 125 amps for 1/0. Two 325W panels are probably around 16 amps, so that looks good. For the DC distribution, does the blade panel have a 30 Amp master fuse? If not, perhaps an inline fuse?
Why is...
Was just looking at the local utility power costs, looks it's gone up quite a bit to $0.14496/kWh, an increase of about 9% from July last year. To their credit, the local utility has managed to keep their costs the same, the increases are FPL increases. The increase seems to be fuel prices...
You know what they say about assumptions... work through the math examples in the other thread for your system and ask any questions where anything might be unclear.
California has a nice database of independently verified data, although since they made it hard to find here are the links:

Have you looked at the Outdoor Wyze cam? https://wyze.com/wyze-cam-outdoor.html? They can be setup to only turn on when they detect motion and save power (a number of cams can be setup like that). The Wyze outdoor cams don't need to be plugged in and would last for 3-6...
It is! You have to dig in to understand what you're reading. that's for sure. From the reference Bookings provided, their number only includes direct payments from G20 countries:
Also funny how they rounded $584 down to $500.
So, the Bookings number only accounts for a handful of countries...
An or proposition like that is known as a "sucker's choice" - it's this or that. Obviously, nuclear war is bad. Obviously, climate change is bad.
Nuclear war may or may not happen. Climate change is well under way and +1.5C doesn't seem stoppable.
virtually certain 99–100% probability

very likely 90– 100%,

Ran some numbers on SAM to see what the benefits were mathematically, here are the results for a 7.6 kW array at latitude (25N) when compared to fixed flat (laying on the ground).
Seasonal Tilt: 13,549 kWh, +12.8%
Dual Axis: 17,761 kWh, +47.8%

Fixed annual kWh, % increase

Apologies my calculator skills are sub-par, that's why I try to show all the steps so those with more nimble fingers can do it correctly. But, the steps should be correct so you can calculate the efficiency for any gear combination.
Now that you have DIY batteries...microinverters may not be a...
Get the Word out!
I was talking to a relative yesterday about the migration away from
fossil fuels.
They were convinced it couldn't happen. Given HB741 passing, they
might even be right.
While I suspect that almost everyone is aware of the climate change
issue these days, I don't think a lot...
Two year follow up report...
So, rather than DIY I shelled out and purchased an EcoWitt Wittboy back in 2022. It's worked well and most importantly didn't die after it's first year as every outdoor weather station before it has. It's even still on it's first battery. AFAIK, the solar has...
A voltmeter won't cut it. It'll tell you the current state of charge, not battery health.
Let me rephrase... take it to a well-equipped parts store in a big town where
there are people that know what they're doing. Probably should call them and
explain your issue and ask if they have a...
Thanks!
I think most are. Not sure about the three listed as they use microbial action, but I want to believe. From the Renecle page:
Reencle is NOT a Dehydrator NOR a Grinder
Reencle operates on totally different and unique mechnism using microbial technology(ReencleMicrobe™) which makes it...
No WiFi? Needs a physical ethernet cable?
What are they used for anyway? With SmartThings I send text messages to my cell phone to get alerts of things I need to take action on... what do you do to avoid the internet for those types of things?
That's odd.. mine has dozens of profiles. Possibly they have to be loaded remotely. You might try calling tech support to if they help you out in the interrim.
I might be a believer, but this sort of stunt sounds like it is driven more by climate hysterics. But, AFAIK there are no international laws to stop them from doing crazy things. In this instance, it doesn't sound concerning (sounds like the equivalent of a tenth of a snowflake in a blizzard...
Thanks for sharing your experiences!
I hope you take some photos and blog about how it goes!
Interesting! I thought some folks picked the IotaWatt over the Vue to have local hosting.
Don't have one, but according to the Amazon Q&A the bond bridge supports 303.2 MHz
According to this, the Bond V2 now has an even a lower frequency range: 285.5 - 505.5 MHz, versus 300 - 450 MHz on Snowbird (V1?); so either should work.
The V2 supports a local API:
If you're 433 MHz, Sonoff...
If it's for emergency using cheaper lead acid is often more economical, see the Battery FAQ for how to compare $ of different chemistries. A natural gas generator with a sound shield would probably be a lot cheaper.
But that "mobile" bit... Two Battleborn's will weigh in at ~60lbs. 200 Ah of...
Sounds like you're going to need to have them unfold or tow an array on a trailer. Either that or the compressor won't be able to run much.
In order to answer how many AGM batteries you'll need to decide how much power you need (e.g., how frequently the compressor runs).
You can do this with a...
I couldn't find your manual, but the manual for model 4210RN on page 22 had the maximum voltage as 92V and maximum input power at 24V is 800W. As your panel voltage is 41V, putting 3 in series would be to high (123V) for that model. That might be okay if your MPPT is 138V (Not a Tracer, but...
No one should care what I believe as I'm not an expert. They should look at observable facts and what experts who study the field say.
Mainly, at this point in this thread, I just try to answer questions I think I can help with and post headlines to current news so people can stay up on what's...
I've seen a few members express concerns over threads that go off topic. What do you think and what would you like moderators to do about it if anything?
Update
Since starting this thread a number of issues have cropped up as to likes and dislikes. For example, we have members that:

Sorry to be literal, I can think of three reasons, first is they honestly don't understand that different driving conditions affect mileage, secondly that they're being social and using that as a conversational ice breaker, sort of a "Think it'll rain today?" The last one is they've been hired...
No, it's not April 1st, but it seems like it should be.
Was thinking about speed bumps while watching cars whiz past and wondered if
anyone had turned it into a generator. Sure enough (ref):
The average car is around 1500 kG, so extrapolating the curve that's about 2 kW per
car per speed bump...
