Eg4 18kpv wifi dongle not connecting

Make sure you have already registered prior to the following!

From your phone or computer, use the Wi-Fi settings to locate the Wi-Fi dongle. Its SSID will match your dongle's serial number. Choose it as the Wi-Fi source.

From your mobile device (cell), use the Monitor app. At the bottom of the screen, select "DONGLE CONNECT" and choose your Home Wi-Fi access point, then enter your password. Finally, tap "HomeWifi." With any luck, you should be connected in a few minutes while it reaches the server.

I'm assuming you couldn't see the 10.10.10.1 like me. You could try the tutorial that's available on YouTube.

Good luck!
That's exactly what I did before...I'll try it again thanks

If you have already successfully connected to your dongle to your mobile device and get a warning "limited access or no internet" then try to connect to 10.10.10.1 it should take you to the Mico webpage (graphical user interface aka GUI). from there you can follow the tutorial.
18kpv tutorial

I have again powered on the 6000XP with the dongle installed. Connected to the SSID which is the serial of the dongle. After I've connected I go to 10.10.10.1 in a browser but it never loads, always "connection refused". If I look in my network settings I can see that 10.10.10.1 is the gateway address and my devices is being assigned a 10.10.10.X IP address so it is connecting. But the Micro page never loads.

I have tried on a windows device, iOS, android and mac using a default browser and no other network settings. I'm at the point where I will just send the unit back. Why is this so difficult? What else can I do?

Could you send me a DM with the serial number of your Wi-Fi dongle, as well as the serial number and station name for the inverter (if applicable)?

It's very frustrating, but it will be worth it once you get it connected. He'll help you out. Don't give up now👍

Same thing for me... I went as far as buying a new router and no dice. I'm thinking I that something has changed while programming at the factory. Because it doesn't recognize the 10.10.10.1 address. But I can connect to it directly(Via app) which is limited without the server to capture the information.

I had to use Duck Duck Go.

If you can access the inverter via the app, then go to the settings page.
Scroll all the way down to Dongle Set and click Set button next to “Reset to Factory”.

This will work with local connect without registering.

Yeah tried this approach too and it was no go either.

It wasn’t working for me, but tried multiple times and it finally worked.

Well I'll keep trying this weekend because I don't want to worry about cell coverage 3 to 5(years) from now with the 4g version.
subscription to service wise.

Ok, looks like my network was blocking outgoing requests to China. I made an exception for this device and now I can get to the settings.

Stil 10.10.10.1 never loaded. The wifi setup process is pretty bad and could use some improvement. There seems to be no communication to indicate what problems there might be. There are many posts on this forum and reddit of folks having similar issues.

Now...no AC Output. I don't have EG4 batteries, I have my own self-built battery system so there is no BMS communication that I will connect. No voltage reading between L1/L2 and Neutral. What do I need to change to get AC Output to work? I've read through all the config settings and manual and can't seem to find anything.

The post I've read where they had no communication, they used " lead acid" as the battery choice to get it to work. Then you set charge and float voltage.

I have all eg4 stuff so I can only say what I've read.

If using the 6000XP, the 10.10.10.1 does not work and will have to be connected through the APP.

I think you're right. What a mess! The manual should explicitly state that, or even better there should be a setting for battery communication On/Off, it shouldn't require selecting Lithium as the type to require communication. EG4 needs to work on their documentation and setup flow, this is pretty bad for a first time setup experience.

I have 6000xp, it was working for few days until I believe Reset to factory under local connect, tried everything for a week now. Jared please help!

Everything definitely isn't straight forward. I had 4-6500's before I switched to 2-18ks. These were easier to install but the dongles just didn't want to connect for me without some help from the eg4 guys. Even then it too a couple weeks to get everything working properly.
