Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

I have played with the unit a bit, started filming some stuff but got caught up on some website issues and upgrades that have been taking up a lot of my time these last 2 weeks or so. I am waiting on the final price from the guys at Midnite so we can get that on our site and likely start accepting pre-orders.

As indicated earlier in this thread, there are some battery options to match with the inverter coming. I'm excited to see those head this way as well!

You would be amazed how many Chinese companies have contacted me about this inverter asking if we could get them information on which factory is manufacturing it! I find it comical that they are coming to me...that's a good indicator in my book.
Yeah, they wanna know so they can go pester them or get someone hired on at the factory that does make it to work out a clone. Sad, yet funny. Maybe....some good that comes from it would be better chinesium inverters....doubtful.

It's ok to be excited but it seems we've crowned it king even though it's yet to be used by anyone
Well I am hoping they consider me on their list.I am optimistic about their upcoming batteries as well.

Even though I had a really bad experience with Signature solar and their initial lifepo4 model it is still one of the cheapest and decent quality battery .

I heard they fixed that bms issue. That commendable even though I bit too late

I can say stuff or even show stuff about fortress as,well but they were good on their warranty .

So saying or showing would be unbecoming of me.

I wouldn’t buy another fortress even though it’s a good battery with great warranty for the reason ,echoing Signature Solar’s marketing strategy.

I hope they are continuing to honor warranties after that lengthy hiccup ;and improving support and customer service .

The smart load breakers could probably be added to other manufacturers models at some point. Getting full control of your loads without spending thousands on a smart panel is a pretty unique value proposition.

All of these companies, Midnite, Solark/Deye, EG4/Luxpower are going to continue to see serious downward pricing pressure. In another thread the new SRNE ASP 10kw inverters are being discussed. They can be paralleled. So 20kw. Price with shipping from China, for two 10kw units is in the $2300 range! This models predecessor, is the ASF, and many people are using that model with great success. The ASF is being brand labeled by at least three other companies. So for $5100 I can buy 4, SRNE 10kw inverters and have $500 left.

How much will your battery cost?
Do you care what the inverter costs? That is, if there is any issue with the bargain one functioning properly?

Have just discovered the saj b2 (modular, LifePO4) battery brand. It's an established company (Chinese) with an office in Melbourne. Not sure if in United States. Haven't checked the specs yet, but it is CEC certified by Australian govt. By cheap, I mean 20kwh for $8087US, 10kwh $5209US. the inverter is an all-in-one with hybrid inverter, and promises to attach to anything.
If I buy this it'll be soon, and keep this post updated.

Of course I care what the inverter costs. This stuff has to pay for itself.
Track record is the best measure. Look at the track record of the 18kPV. Looks like Beta testing might be close to done now? Why is that worth $5k. And there are ongoing issues. The Solark has been proven. The SRNE ASF has a good track record. Id say the ASF is relatively low risk and its cheap. All of these are made in China.

48V battery bank so I guess it is your choice.

Buy spares if the price is right.......
I would want to agree .
imagine an advise like that coming from a noted company for an item that has 5yrs warranty and they are telling you it’s good to keep spares for an item that supposed to last beyond 10yrs and is still under warranty.
Speaking from experience.
Price for item is around $5000.
So yea I get you.

I am referring to the SRNE inverters being discussed......

No firm price on the 10K parallel versions of the SRNE ASP but price should be under $1500 each.

Sad, but that made me laugh.

If you manu in China, eventually your product will be rehashed, probably cheapened, and everybody will have one for sale. Generally works out ok for us cheapskate diy'ers, not so much for the one fronting the r&d.

42OhmsPA has a quote on the ASP 10KW. Someone correct me if I got this wrong. But it is in his thread.

$875 - not a typo, plus shipping from China. Shipping for one is $275 or so. The ASP is already on Ebay. Search for SRNE ASP. $1550. This is a reseller, so you can bet they are paying a lot less than $1500 for the ASP unit.

I want to hear of one installed, up and running and then, unless Midnite, Solark, or EG4 is going to drop their price by 70%, I will be placing a order for one, or more likely two of the ASP units.

Look at all of the threads on this forum where EG4 had to log into the users 18K units so they could tweak the settings or reload the firmware to a different level. Obviously the 18K unit was not ready for primetime. The customers "paid" for that. And remember, the 18K unit is NOT a 18K inverter, it is a 12K inverter for about $5000. Putting that in solar terms, that is $5000/12K or $416 per KW. Compared to the SRNE ASP at say $1550/10K or $155 per KW (the most expensive price I can find). And remember, all of these are made in China.

Not disagreeing. As mentioned earlier in this, or was it another thread, retailers like SigSolar let the customer be the beta tester while more scrupulous manu/retailers like MidNIte pretty much have all the bugs worked out before the customer gets their hands on it, not to mention they tend to build/design very robust products. So yeah, I got a chuckle about the SigSolar comment.

I think we saw the cost price for the 18kpv ex China was $2500 or something like that. Still seems high even at that price compared to the SRNE ASP.

I got a quote from Sungold for 3188 delivered for 2x 10kw ASP to my door.
Gonna ride out the summer and see if they keep releasing new stuff and maybe find these cheaper then.
I’ll keep my ASF for now and then as backup potentially later
