SRNE 12kW IP65 HES and 10kW ASP

I was busy installing a pair of poles for a solar array. No time for inverters. Filled holes with concrete yesterday. I need to get at least one mini split in the shop done as my wife doesn't want to lift the 2 ton window air again. I still have the 2 ton central unit but if it gets in the 90's it won't keep up.

I also heard the walleyes are biting. All work, no play makes for a dull day.

As for the install, the manual has 500 mm top and bottom clearance for cooling, 200 mm on sides. I'll have about 11 feet above the inverters and minimum 20 inches to the trough, just like I installed the LV6548's in the house.

When servicing the inverter air filters, it will be tight with the box in between.

Do you trust those long extensions of Unistrut not to buckle under wind loading?
I'd want to make trusses. I believe in triangles.

They do look like double-height, which should be much better.
I saw tables of allowed loading, so most of the engineering effort has been done already (regarding unsupported spans.)
But bending moments can be incredible given high wind.

They are fine. They won't be that long in finished project. In addition I tilt the array to 60 degrees in winter so very little load. It will only have one and a half panels in width on it. Yes double strut 1 5/8" x 2, welded together.

I've seen it reported in a few posts.
My past orders have included a spare cell, just in case.

Could try and find someone local with a laser welder.
Depending on your BMS you could also run 15S until you get a repair or replacement.

What cells were they?

Cells are made by VariCore.
Grade A 3.2V 280Ah LiFePo4

Ran into a frustrating issue with the 10KW ASP I just got. It refused to charge my batteries any higher then 1.5 amps...
Only have it hooked up to the grid to rule out too many factors for now.
I've been playing with the voltage settings in my ANT BMS and in the ASP over the last 2 days trying to figure it out...sigh...no luck.

I finally decided to manually setup the ASP to do an equalizing charge. As soon as it started, charging current instantly went up to 51 amps and after 5 seconds my BMS beeped and errored out on "Individual overvoltage alarm" on cell #10.

I shut it all down, went to disconnect cell 10, thinking I had a bed cell, and low and behold the negative terminal screw was not as tight as the positive terminal screw.... wtf... I was sure I tightened them all properly.

Checked and retightened all the screws, turned it all back on, and all of a sudden, no more problems.

Moral of the story is, for me at least, don't always assume it's a software settings issue...lol...

There is a guy on youtube giving SRNE hell for not sizing wires to what is considered proper size.

One of the problems with advice on internet:

Let’s look at guy saying what he said downing the high freq…does his channel look interesting?

I’d think but am not positive since no feedback was given but danigonzales probably stated problem.
But the owner states “sparks from pv.” So…who knows.? The owner is ready to give up.

I have looked at videos and thought those wires inside inverters look thin. The light weight are interesting too. 👀😁☑️

I watched one of them a while back and had enough of him, seems he didn't understand it was a split phase inverter; only 5KW / ~42A/leg.
I'll post some thermals next time I'm loading mine down hard, hopefully by Monday. I saw no signs of wires heating up at 80% load. Hottest item was the class T fuse.
I'll try and get a wire size as well.

I need about 20 minutes of my life back, you owe me. :)

Nothing worse than people who don't know what they are doing/talking about that post videos.

Gonna be a hot one in the Midwest the next week or so. We're going to be in the 90s all next week, not looking forward to that..

I poured a couple of cement pads when I cemented in the array posts on Monday. This weekend is dedicated to getting the one 2 ton mini split installed so I will have 4 ton of cooling capacity for the shop. Later I'll get the other installed.

Was interesting day here yesterday as the sun was shining and storm clouds rolled in fast. I watched 2 funnel clouds forming 1/4 mile away over the town then dissipate before touchdown. I'm up on a hill overlooking town. Humid and very sticky today. Must be mid June in Iowa......

Cool. So this ought to be enough to take y'all totally off grid with two 10KW inverters?
Hopefully after the next battery packs and ground mount this fall I can get through December and January.

It could all be changing through... I walked 12 acres of mature woods last night, really considering offering asking price or slightly above. ~$8k an acre is pretty darn good around here in today's world.

There.

That's what I paid in the mid to late '80's for a steep, heavily treed lot above Cupertino/Saratoga.

How is water?

It's got iron and sulphur but tastes excellent after treatment.

Edit - I have a friend that lives within a mile as the crow fly's and I'm currently within 5 miles of it.

My place was 7 miles, 17 minutes to HP where I worked at he time. Now the Apple spaceship campus.
I stayed in an RV for a while.

It is now a $1M to $2M neighborhood, some nice houses, some funky shacks.
Next road over, Montebello Ridge, is $5M to $15M.

If you've got water, you're good. Can distill or whatever for drinking, maybe soften for washing except adding salt to the soil doesn't seem good.

They're not making any more land, so if you can afford the $100k, can't go wrong.
Back then, the seller had subdivided a 20 acre parcel that had his house, and financed with 10% down for 10 years at 10% interest. Cost 3 years of my salary.

If you have it attached to your property would not sale the buffer zone. New neighbors might be bad. Distance and Fences make best neighbors. 😁😂☑️
