Victron is Over-priced Eurotrash. Why would anybody buy Victron over an AiO?

Works really well. It got everything balanced within .006-.007V, even though the minimum in settings is 0.01V (the battery was originally 0.021V between min and max when I got everything hooked up)

Documentation does say it supports communication to Victron equipment, but I bought the UART version over the RS-485 version.
At what voltage do you charge to 54.4?

54.6V is 100% fully charged, so I assume whatever voltage a charger would use to get to that. I charged the batteries individually before I assembled them into a pack. I am going to figure out how to get the BMS to consider 90% and 52.7V as 100%, and have it cut off at 25% (my inverter has a low voltage alarm at 43V and shuts off at 41V).

I connected my 150/45 to it this morning to see if it would work without solar connected (it does). And even updated firmware to 1.63 for the MPPT

It's connected to HDMI and USB of a Cerbo-s. Being used just as a display.
So were you able to work out touch function on the display or are you tied to using a keyboard.

That display has really low consumption, very impressed.

Basically I just swiped randomly for a bit and got it into that gui view and that's where it comes back to now if I power it off and back on. Removed the keyboard.

I'm happy with that, all I wanted was a quick overview at a glance, any actual changes I can use VRM/Victron Connect on my phone.

Given that this thread is quite the hodge-podge-all-things-Victron thread, thought I'd link this, to report that a Victron firmware update restored function to an inverter. This is about a year and a half after the dignified folks at NAZ Solar sent me a replacement.

WELL DONE Victron.

Anyone have any pictures of a dual Quattro 10k/RS450 full Lynx install on a wall? Trying to visualize how I want to do my install with wireways and batteries. Not finding any good pictures online or searching here. Let's see how you've done it. I am planning to paint my wireways Victron blue :)

Why paint when you can buy them already close enough to Victron blue?

Dude their is this thing called Obsessive compulsive disorder... might want to visit a shrink ;)

and in steps one of the enablers :p

I was looking for blue metal ones but hadn't found any yet. I'll check those out. Thanks

too late.. the OCD king has just stepped up to the plate and booom! its outta da park!

3" isn't a lot of room to fit cables and for turning radius. I'm thinking metal wireways and maybe spray painted.

I doubt that I'll have 3" to spare in my area. 3" would be a lot of room for my wiring. The welding cable would make a 90° corner in the 3" duct pretty easy.

Here's a couple that I've come across.
One thing to consider sometimes mounting the power in/distributor etc upside down can make things much neater versus looping wires around all over

Does that mean I have to derate say a 95 degree cable accordingly?
I would. I’m using the same wire ducts in my cottage install, but my baseline load is very low so I feel comfortable using them. I’m pretty sure that these wire ducts are intended for low voltage applications.

I’m not actually sure how you would calculate the wire ampacity rating for 50C - everything I’ve seen online has a minimum of 60C.

Figure temperature rise is proportional to square of current.
Current for 90C, assuming 30C ambient, is that which causes 60C rise.
50C is 20C rise.

sqrt(20)/sqrt(60) = 0.58, so 0.58 x 90C ampacity.

Try it with the 75C and 60C currents, see if you get the same answer.
At least those wire molds have gaps, let air through.

Be sure to do derating for bundle of wires.

Well. Another blue charge controller is on the way to Casa Q. Plus a few other bits. 6 months since my back surgery and I'm good to go! I'm ready to get up on the roof and mount some things permanently over here!

But the back surgery wasn't my only hangup. It also took me a while to get the nerve to put a bunch of holes in our roof. I drew up plans for a solar pergola, and even bought some of the materials to build it. Then we had a bunch of tornadoes and bad weather that made me rethink the solar pergola idea. Maybe later.

Last week I did the layout and installed about half of the rail feet and the rails that I had on hand. Drilling the first hole was the hardest part. 🤮 I also shortened one of the vent stacks so panels can go over the vent instead of around it. I used up the hardware I had on hand ... still waiting on one rail kit to come in.

I probably need a few more things I haven't thought about yet, but in this heat I'm in no hurry. I get up on the roof at first light and quit around 11am. Back feels great ... knees, not so much.

Nice! Which model did you get?
