DIY 230Ah EVE Mobile Battery (aka) EZGO Golf Cart

If I put in LIFEPO4 batteries, what do I need? 100Ah "1C batteries"?
No expert on Conversion, but Lifepo4 voltage drop should be less than lead acid. meaning, less Amp draw from Lithium. So draw should also come down based on this.
Will be great to have someone with experience to comment on this conversion SLA to Lifepo4 48v amp draw advantage

This is very interesting. Thank you for taking time to post about it. I thoroughly enjoyed reading and hope to see more!

Awesome build!
What cover did you install over top of battery box? Clear perspex so you can admire your work?

I haven't made a cover yet. I've been working on my solar aray mounting. I finally got a permit. I need to get something made to cover it never though of plexiglass. Thanks for the idea. This is my other ongoing project if you're interested.

Ha, I am only a rough amatuer compared to your builds.
Going to change an old Yamaha 48v 19E over to LiFePo4 soon once everything gets to us here in Australia.
Have been thinking about making the battery box out of 20mm thick formply as its easy to cut (and I cant weld at all) , with a perspex cover.
Thanks for reply

Since you did such a nice job on it you should put plexiglass over the top with blue led lights to show it off. I'm definitely jealous.

I have a Precedent I'm building and just put some prismatic cells in. I built a wooden box for it and haven't done a Navitas upgrade...yet. I'll post pics when I'm done with the build.

Super nice build! Thanks for sharing. Any issues with the JBD BMS? How is the Bluetooth app? I built a 48v pack for my EZGO RXV with a 250amp Daly BMS and thinking of switching over to the JBD.

Thanks,
Josh B.

The Navitas conversion has a control panel that allows for acceleration, regen and speed. You can adjust any of these settings on the fly. There is a locking feature as well for you to be able to keep your friends and kids from going 35 mph and getting hurt.

Ah. No navitas for me. But the JBD 7-21S 200A BMS does have overcurrent protection so I'm curious how that handles it. Or if you can control something to that effect in the bms app.
