Seplos CAN BUS RS485 48v 200A 8S-16S BMS

Still no response from Seplos. Alan finally got back to me a couple weeks ago after I emailed support direct, but his response was to "Contact your salesmen, we can't help you, we're just engineers" So i've emailed Adam twice now, no response. Today I reached out direct through Alibaba. We'll see...

Why is this so hard?

i guess chinese covid lockdowns are still fully on..

Hi, found this site whilst searching for a BMS to complete my home battery build. It's made up of 16 x 304aH EVE cells and i'll be running it through a LuxPower 3600ACS inverter. My question is, which is the best version to get, Can or RS485? My inverter appears to support both.

their new ( and the only one new available) is the 10E version, which supports both rs485 and CANBUS on the same interface

Absolutely correct.
I now have these two versions in working order, I was able to fix the 10C version and bought the new 10E version.
So I can compare.

Well in my process of attempting to get the communication to work, I set the display screen down on the metal case of the battery (hindsight), and it somehow shorted out the BMS and let out the mystery smoke.
...
So I sent them an email on the 6th asking if there was any warranty on this, or anything. g in no time.

This is an error on your side and the warranty is not likely to cover it.

Having read this thread, I’m sort of hoping all the gremlins have been resolved with this BMS? Seems like it’s been a bit of a nightmare for some people.
I’m being asked by Colin at Seplos if I require a screen ( sounds useful ) and a Bluetooth connection. Why would I need a Bluetooth connection?

you wouldn't perse, but you'd have to use a Windows PC / Monitoring software to monitor them, or change settings.
IMHO the bluetooth stuff is a short lived gimmick/ Tinkering tool
if using good cells and correct setup , you'll find you're barely looking at it after a few weeks

So is the Bluetooth connection there in order to change settings remotely? I’m guessing the screen allows you to do this?

The screen is monitoring only. The Bluetooth is monitoring, and you can change parameters remotely.

I agree, I don't expect them to give me a new one just because I demanded it. I figured it couldn't hurt to try?

If they won't offer, I will end up purchasing one anyways.

Just to follow up, Adam did finally get back to me on the 1st, and he said it is out of warranty. So that answers that.

I am looking at buying this BMS for my Sofar ME3000SP
I think the 100A will be more than enough given that the inverter maxes out at 65A

I have so far contacted two sellers on Alibaba, one is quoting 184$ including shipping to the UK and LCD, bluetooth and "upper computer cable"; when I asked about the heating function he said it doesn't have heating function
Another seller quoted 240$ including shipping and LCD + bluetooth +rs485/can + heating; when I asked he said "heating" means he'll supply the heating pads; by the way, the heating option is about 10$ (included in the 240$)

What's the deal with the heating function? Is there a bms that supports it and one that doesn't or is it just a matter of connecting a heating pad?

Hi Guys,
i have also a rosen solar with seplos bms / about the dipswitches must turn 1 into on or all off ? i have also pace bms with rosen solar / has anybody experience also about the dipswitches? thanks for your help

Not all BMSes support it. It should be explicitly requested.

Mine at least has missing components where the heating circuit should be. Looking at the PCB I see a MOSFET used as a switch that will connect a heating pad to the 48V rail. Not sure what's the logic behind it though.

how many batteries do you have ?
andy's offgrid garage on YT just posted a good video on understanding how the dipswitches should be setup

2 Batteries , is there any dipswitches to set that the batteries are communicate with inverter?
Andy's offgrid garage on YT give you a good view
First 4 dipswitches are RS485 and master is zero, 5 to 8 are CAN settings for amount parallel batteries
It's possible that you need to update the firmware of the 10C to V2.9 ( Andy used V2.8 but that is a special for Victron /SMA)
When needed for 10C possible for communication, also when you use CAN bus to inverter at the moment you add a slave and you discover that discharge is limit to 0.5C max for both packs (master and slaves)

Edit: look good that you have good one, HW14 is for pcb version V14 (left bottom corner front of BMS)

I have 2 x Seplos - Master and Secondary.
The best way to extract the data is not with Bluetooth gimicks, but with the USB into a RPi (or similar) and run the script in this
https://github.com/byte4geek/SEPLOS_MQTT

HOWEVER, Alan has confirmed that you will NEVER be able to extract the data of the Master BMS if you have 2 or more units in parallel
So I am going to change my 2 strings of batteries into a single 16s2p and sell the second BMS, and read the data from the standalone Master

Hi - I have a 10E BMS connected to a Victron Multiplus 2 with a RP and CAN hat used for load shifting so no other DC charging. With the BMS CAN disconnected the battery can charge at 70 Amps as expected but when CAN is connected the charge current is limited to 47.5 Amps. This limit is shown on the RP display in the BMS parameters.
My question is how can I either adjust or remove this limit? I can't find any settings for it on the RP display or in the Seplos PC software.

need ro set that through the management software in the bms

Just to follow up with this, I just placed my order for 2x 10E 200a BMS's. I also asked them to include the PC-to-Battery communication cable. Fingers crossed this all works out for me. Good thing is I'm not in a hurry.

Has anybody figured out how to change the parameters such as "start ballancing voltage" via the Battery Monitor? It seems that it only allows changing a couple of parameters: SOC, rated capacity. I managed to also change the min charge temperature from the vary bad value of -10 degrees! I wonder if editing the xml and then doing the mass "Load" would work.
Thanks
