18650 Battery Store Legit? Will not answer the phone.

I want the reports so I can better sort the cells for my (2) 8s packs. If I ever want to sell these, having the reports would increase the value. I find it very disappointing they aren't following up on what they advertise - it makes you wonder what they would do if there was damaged cells or other issues....

You're smart.

I'm dumb and just thankful they stock and sell these things so cheap. So much better than having to throw money into Ali express fraud hole.

As far as I know they are good at responding to return requests.

It's also noteworthy that the more information you demand from them, the more staff they have to have in order to meet those demands and thus they would have to raise prices.

This is one of the reason automotive repair costs so much. People want detailed estimates, explanations and post-repair follow-up of work performed.

One mechanic needs to generate living wages to pay two people: Himself and the customer service rep that talks to people.

To those who object to my claims:

Simply put, I don't trust Chinese suppliers/distributors at all. If I were an OEM EV manufacturer purchasing many millions of $ of cells for use in building EV batteries, I would trust that they would comply with the contract, BUT I would also put them through a quality system with sampling inspection to confirm that they were not shipping in non-compliant product.

Why do I feel this way? Because I have a relationship with a battery builder that purchased new cells direct from Chinese manufacturers in excess of $300-400K/year. After a 2 year honeymoon period, without fail, every single shipment would include non-compliant cells. Period. No exceptions. This was the same manufacturer that was supplying them to an OEM, but this builder was getting the fallout dumped on him. His warranty rate jumped to 20%. It almost put him out of business. He had to increase his production costs by screening 100% of what came in from the manufacturer to make sure it didn't end up in his batteries.

So claims of employment by Eve aren't relevant - true or not. I don't trust them. Period.

Until everyone buying cells from "grade A" suppliers is testing 100% of their cells to all datasheet specifications and methods and getting 100% correlation with these alleged data sheets, there isn't sufficient evidence to claim they are EV rated and legit.

Now... the flip side.

Would I buy from 18650? Absolutely.

Why? Because I do trust they are producing cells that meet 95% of rated capacity and meet other specifications sufficient for use in power storage systems.

Would I build EV batteries with cells I buy from them? Fuck no.

So, the burden is not on me. Those that claim they meet specifications are those that must provide PROOF.

I don't think that I have ever seen a data sheet with any of my cells. But then again, I never requested one either.
I buy them. Hook them up. Test for capacity. And move on.
As long as I got what I paid for, I'm satisfied.
I am in this same boat. Are they pulling capacity and operate as intended?

Then the rest is irrelevant.

I hear what you and Tim are saying - I have bought B cells from Ali in the past and I had the same attitude. But I don't think everything else is irrelevant for everyone. I think if I had the reports, I could use them to build more matched 24v batteries and squeak out more storage. I also think they add value if I ever want to sell them.

Either way, 18650 are the ones who advertise that when you buy the cells, you can get the reports upon request. And not only do they not give you the reports they promised, but they don't even seem to respond to emails from customers about things they stated come with the sale. I may or may not buy from them in the future. I prefer to buy from vendors who follow through on things promised with the sale and communicate with customers - I certainly will look around at other vendors when I order more cells.

Not sure if co-incidence or not, but last night I received 50 pages of excel battery reports from 18650 - it will take a little time to look at data for batteries I received...

We need some more people to confirm if 18650 is not sending out reports.
confirmed. I bought 16 280ah batteries last year. Requested the reports. Never received. Batteries seem to be slightly under 280ah, but close enough. Otherwise, they look beautiful (no bulging).

So after posting here in the forum, I received 50 pages of battery reports from 18650, but none of my batteries are listed in these reports they sent me. So after waiting over a week, they finally got back to me, but didn't send the correct reports.

I am sure they know what cells they sent me - they could have pulled the reports for those batteries and just sent me those - probably trivial to do that for them. Instead they send me 50 pages of the incorrect reports.

I still can't build my (2) 8s batteries with all the information I should have. Not sure if I will just build them or wait.

If anyone has Eve 304 cells from 18650 with cells that start with 04QCB738....I have your reports if you want them...my cells start with 04QCB737

Just build the batteries and run them. Top balance them properly for best chance of success if you aren't using a BMS with active balancing.

Spend me that excel document, I can gladly doctor it up to include your cells.

Would that make you feel better?

Man I really hope 18650batterystore gets this report thing straightened out. We can not have this good vendor go under.

And I will take that report send it to dorris[dot]liu[at]evebattery.com to verify, when it comes back as false I would then post here about it. It will not end well I will make damn sure of it. Finally vendors are carrying good stock state side so any attempts by the grade B and fraud grade sympathizers to discredit them will have me to deal with; btw I'm not alone now as more people than ever know about test reports, fake qr codes, and other tactics.

Leave a fake paper trail see how it ends ⚔️ this is not 2020 any more.

Here are the reports I received - attached to this.

I know reports can be fabricated - sounds like we could double check with Eve - that would be bad for reputable vendor to be found out fabricating.

I will probably just assemble cells and see how they work. Nevertheless, if I had the reports I might be able to make batteries with higher capacity by matching the cells.

18650 offering to send reports does give them credibility to being A cells. The fact that they don't appear to do this does put all their claims into question - whether it is A cells or warranty.

2080 cells and none of them match yours?

And confirmed, the silence is disheartening.
I'm looking for four LF280K V3 cells on an EVE report that 18650 has yet to send.
The cells are very nice with clean QR codes and test above 304Ah (not sure about matched n batched), but communications are a key part in sales.
The cell numbers I'm waiting for:
04QCB76G40703JD9F0008513
04QCB76G51603JD9F0004605
04QCB76G51703JD9G0003838
04QCB76G40703JD9F0004292
I've ordered from SFK and got the reports before the cells, it's only an email attachment and a spreadsheet search on my end.
If they appreciate repeat business, an email is cheap.

whether it is A cells or warranty.

This is the only thing that I would be concerned with as on there site they say the have to verify with the warranty on cells they have. I do not believe 18650 is selling grade B cells, they have real eve terminals not fake ones like EEL does.

I really hope they rectify this situation, these type of issues are all the ammunition the grade B mob needs to say, SEE test reports are BS and not needed.?

SFK's approach of putting the label on the cell is a good safe measure they don't have to give you the whole spreadsheet if you order a small qty but you don't have to go pleading for a report neither.

Ezeal and batteryhookup just put it up for anyone to download probably the easiest out of them all and you don't have to go pestering them.

That being said I fully understand the fear of someone downloading these doctoring them up to sell there fake ones, although I have yet to see this happen. Still won't solve the fake / sanded qr code issue though.

So every report provided by a vendor has to be second verified? Why doesn’t eve just post all reports for all cells with qr codes listed? Are they too small of a company to provide such transparency?

What does eve have to hide? Or have they stopped grade B marking on QR codes as resellers were getting so much back lash?

EVE manufactures thousands of cells per day and sells only to EV Companies and large off takers who in turn supply the market. The reports i believe should be supplied by EVE to their off takers but the challenge is not to retail users directly. So, you will have to rely on the reports by the vendor. Unfortunately, trust and transparency is notoriously in short supply by LifeP04 cell vendors on Ali Baba who are well known for selling lower grade cells but charge premium prices. I think what EVE can do better is to have a website for verification of all EVE cells manufactured like we do with solar panels. You input the serial number, bar code or QR code number of the cell and the EVE website verifies the production date and grade of cell directly from the manufacturer. No need requesting for doctored cell reports.
