    Testing EG4 6000XP AIO inverter.

Does anyone know if this is the replacement unit for EG4 6000EX? I was told that the 6000EX is being replaced. If this is the replacement, does anyone know if this new model can be used with the prior models in a parallel configuration? Or has anyone tested whether or not the communication will...

Growatt 6K cause power outages at night

My issue isnt exactly the same. The voltage does fluctuate once the sun goes down between 116V-121V but that is still within the voltage range. I hooked up my other 6KW Growatt inverter and it doesnt have the same issues. I also tested everything with my EG4 inverter and it works as it should...

LiFePO4 Cells - Shenzhen Hongxinda New Energy Co. - Alibaba

I have the exact wording "Dear friend: i have already confirmed with the technology that the hole of the battery is 3-5mm and cannot be drilled too deep" i brought these cells to a professional machine shop and at 2.8mm the cells were damaged. I contacted the sales and they said try again and...

    Has anyone dealt with Microgreen.ca?

I have dealt with Microgreen on the commercial side of things because all my purchases were done via my own company, but from what i have experienced, they are learning and always improving on their service. After sales service is good, they do try to solve your issues in a timely manner. I know...

LiFePO4 Cells - Shenzhen Hongxinda New Energy Co. - Alibaba

I hope your cells have no issues because i bought 32 cells from this company and when i opened one of the boxes, 3 cells had welded studs missing on the POS terminals. i was told to get the cells drilled. Long story short.. the sales lady said dont go more than 4mm... at 2.8mm the cells were...

Growatt 6K cause power outages at night

Hey guys, I have a strange problem going on with one of my growatt inverters. So i have 2 growatt 6K split phase units and 1 EG4 6000ex (just for reference). Both Growatt units have solar and are drawing from the same battery bank. Both units have been working issue free for 2 years. Each unit...

Just finished my new ground mount

I bought a telescopic brush from Walmart 10$ and i use that to take most of the heavy snow off to aid it. I could leave the snow on there and it will melt, however if i want the panels to be more efficient then removing the snow will help generate power faster. I do take my snow blower and clean...

Just finished my new ground mount

Here is the back side. Still working on the wiring. There is a few things i need to adjust, like a panel or 2 that is not sitting perfect, but ill do that in September. Its been way to hot to do it. Close your eyes to the conduit on top that is not straight. I put it up in winter and i guess in...

Just finished my new ground mount

No its not move able.. I found that from winter to summer the 30-42deg angle worked best for my location. I did some testing with 2 smaller arrays before going all in on this one. Will post a photo of the back side later today. 480W panels 18 total on this array.

Just finished my new ground mount

8.6KW of solar on this one.... Currently sitting with a total of 17.5 KW of solar on my property and it still feels empty... I guess ill build a second one. So i built this out of treated wood (mostly). Its 42 feet long x 4 feet wide x 6 feet tall with 11ft uni-strut. Total cost for wood: $420...

    LFP cells gone bad

Internal resistance is basically equivalent to a short. Everytime i try to charge the cells, the voltage hovers around .74V and as soon as you remove the power source it drops to zero. Im pretty sure these cells are garbage.

    LFP cells gone bad

From what i have been told, he was using a Growatt 3k unit. He said all the settings were set properly. At first he blamed the inverter as faulty. I took it home and tested it and it worked fine. I checked his settings and it was configured correctly. My coworker went on to say that there was 2...

    LFP cells gone bad

These are battery cells from my coworker. My coworker is a licensed electrician and insisted he knew what to do. He decided that a BMS was not needed and that the inverter would take care of regulating and protecting the cells. So he left the power on in the middle of winter, the batteries...

    battery banks with different capacities

I have just some cells bought from alibaba. They are EVE cells or so they say. In my cabin i have 2 3000w growatt units working in parallel. If i was to build a second 100ah battery bank, is it worth it to connect 1 battery bank to each inverter or just have them goto a main bus bar? Right now...

    battery banks with different capacities

I have a 100ah 48v battery at my cabin and i am looking to expand. I was planning on adding 16 230ah 48v battery bank in parallel. Is there any cons to using 2 very different sized banks together? I have a friend who is interested in buying my 100 ah cells. My other option is to buy 304ah cells...

    lithium cells over voltage

So my issue turned out to be a loose connection in the main connector for the leeds that plugs into the bms. The voltage of the cells were actually 3.4v. I guess there must have been voltage leaking the other 2 leeds. The bms seller will send me a new cable. Thanks everyone for the advice.

    lithium cells over voltage

Looks like this was a few bad wire leeds. #15,14,6,5,4,1 and the main neg all tested bad. Replaced the wire leeds and everything is back up and running. After replacing the wires all voltages were within normal range. The 2 individual cells that were over voltage before, were actually only...

    lithium cells over voltage

I have 2 cells in a 16s configuration that are 3.86V. The remaining cells are all perfectly fine, all in a normal range. I reached out to the supplier of JK bms and they believe that the welding in the cells are faulty. These cells have worked fine for 4 months. They have been charged to 100%...

Designing a new house around my current and future solar system

Yeah the wiring would be fun lol. I still have a bit of time to decide what to do for this new build. Hoping some of the new inverters out there will work out all their kinks. Maybe ill have to explore paralleling units. Thanks for all the help guys!

Designing a new house around my current and future solar system

what inverters are you running for your separate systems currently if you wont mind me asking? I have been looking at getting some EG4 units, but still not sold completely on them.

Designing a new house around my current and future solar system

It is a 48V battery system with LFP cells On the topic of using multiple inverters for different areas of the house..... My thought was some appliances are very power hungry like stove, AC, heating, so i thought maybe there was some benefit to a dedicated inverter to those loads.

Designing a new house around my current and future solar system

I am designing a new house around my current and future solar needs. I am curious as to how many people here are running multiple inverters dedicated to different sections of their homes? My original plan was to have 4-6 inverters powering different sections of my house. But i am not sure if...

How many smart shunts are needed in a multi-battery setup?

So after fixing most of my system failures at -40C, i installed my first victron smart shunt. Its monitoring (2) 48v battery banks. I have 3 battery banks with more cells on the way to make it 4. Total (current) capacity of battery storage is 930AH. This will change in 2 months to 1240AH. So the...

Real-life winter production in SW Michigan -- lesson learned; have a backup battery charging source!

I have a 6.74kw of solar right now in southern Manitoba and 930ah storage. The solar is enough to power the loads daily with 1-3 hrs of sun, but not enough to charge anything. I had to switch to utility mode a few days ago when the temp dropped to -40C. I will be expanding my array by another...

one BMS taking more load in a multi battery bank setup

update: this JBA bms is no longer working. The BMS locked itself in protection mode and wouldnt release even though the battery was fully charged. So i am going to swap it with the same style JK BMS and see if it works better. lol i was thinking of taking a photo last night of the system, but i...

one BMS taking more load in a multi battery bank setup

I check the BMS settings later also. I believe all the wiring from the batteries to the inverters is all 2ga now. Some connections have bigger lugs as i couldnt get the correct size at the time. Not sure if using a stainless washers, bolts and nuts make a difference. I do intend to switch to the...

one BMS taking more load in a multi battery bank setup

I will make a photo later today. Just want to clarify the breaker is not a combining all 3 banks. The pos and neg of each bank is wired to a DC breaker then the 3 pos/neg leads go to the corresponding + - bus bars. All 3 banks are listed as 310ah cells, but i have them set in the bms as 304. I...

one BMS taking more load in a multi battery bank setup

I currently have 3 (48v 304ah battery banks), each with their own bms (2 JK bms units and 1 with a jiabaida bms). What i am finding is my battery bank with the jiabaida bms is basically controlling everything. If that bank runs out of energy the entire system shuts down. I have checked the...

[SOLVED: (NEWBIE ERROR)] JK BMS (JK-B2A24S20P) 43.0V PD between B+ BMS cable & Battery +ve (16S configuration)

One thing i have found with this style BMS is if you just buy the BMS and not the power on button accessory, you may have to add extra voltage to wake the unit up. For some reason it needs to see a higher voltage before the bms will turn on. An easy fix is to jumper a 9v or 6v battery to the...
