Hello all,

I'm having difficulty getting hold of my solar contractor, so going to look to the forum for help. System circa 2007.

I have a 4 conductor cable running from panels to the building (60 meters) which houses the Charge controller, inverter, 1300AH SLA batteries, and other gear.

I believe each conductor is 2AWG aluminum. 2 photos attached. 1 of sheathing, one inside box in building with all the gear. Can anybody confirm?

I am looking at adding additional panels and an additional CC in the building. I want to ensure I know what I have before I start planning too much. Will be back with more questions.20220730_083552.jpg20220730_083125.jpg

I don't have any hands-on experience working with Al wire, but my understanding is you must ALWAYS shine the wire ends down to bare metal, then apply anti-oxidation paste on each and every connection to prevent aluminum oxide formation.
