6500ex - How to clear the fault code

I pushed the power button on the remote display panel. No change. I pulled the jack from the remote display panel, no change. Replaced it, fault still there.

Shut off all battery breakers. Fault still there. Disconnected utility power, fault was still there.

Killed the solar panel connection to stop all power input to the 6500ex. Unit went dark.

Reconnected power sources and the fault was cleared.

There was nothing in the manual about how to clear a fault. If this thing didn't have the ability to manage 450V of solar input, it would be in the dumpster. As is, it is kind of hard to replace.

Pressing the button on the display puts the unit into “standby mode”. If you don’t have AC IN or PV, the unit will remain “on” for about 30 seconds which allows you to change some config settings. If you have PV or AC In coming into the unit, it will be in a “charge only” mode.

As you found out, you have to kill all external power sources (outside of battery power) to turn off the unit completely.

The unit was completely bricked by a fault, and the documentation didn't bother to address this.
