Brass compared to copper?

Sorry for all the bumb questions.

Was wondering if I bolted a brass bung to my copper buss bars would I loose anything? I have brass bar and would have to go find some 1" copper.
I'm looking to raise the tie in up through a piece of wood. Wood will sit on top of all the batteries and this would come up and stick out 1/8". Both positive and negative. I'm hurting for space in the dimensions that I have to work with.

Something like this

Thanks

You would lose the cross section of the copper buss bar where the hole is drilled; however, you would gain additional surface area of the brass. Brass is about 1/4 as conductive as copper, but with that big of a slug, you'd probably experience a net gain in conductivity.

Keep the mounting hole/screw as small as practical. and keep the contact surfaces as clean and flat as possible.

Its 1" wide 1/4" copper buss bars. I was going to go 3/8" bolt because the cable end will have 3/8" hole.

Using 4/0 cable.

Have to weld the U buss bar. The brass piece would go where there are.

This was going to be all in one enclosure. But it's looking like 160 lbs and to hard to put in my trailer. So it will be 2 enclosures. I want this for a power station and be able to put it in my trailer. Still figuring out the details

I think it would be better if you could find some copper for the terminals, but a great idea. If you are going to weld the "U" make it an "H" instead and turn it 90 degrees so 1 is tied to 5 and 2 to 6 and then tied together.
If that doesn't make sense I understand, I'm lousy at putting thoughts to words.........

What would that do?

Also the point of going off the buss bars is so I'm not trying to tighten 4/0 to a 6mm stud.

All BMS leads will have there threaded holes for the balance leads. Once I put the bus bars on i won't have to remove them again unless I has a problem.

Welding copper wasn't worth it. Next time I will buy a piece and cut the shape. Lucky I just happened to have a tank of helium or it would have never welded.

Shouldn't have used the word terminal, I meant your new brass piece was the battery terminal. I'm all for coming off the bus bar like that, it's an excellent idea also mitigates the problem of the cable twisting loose the 6mm stud. I also want to put the balance leads on the buss bar, I don't like stacking terminals. If you welded an "H" the electrical path distance would be the same for the cells but with 1/4 material I know its not a concern...
