Hi Paulca, are you still looking for an SP2000?Has anyone got any broken SP2000 units they'd like to donate/sell to a research project ? I've got one broken unit, wondering if I can compare the components in a couple of units , swap some bits around , and make a working unit. If so, I could detail the steps required to fix them in the future, and send you back a working unit for the cost of the replacement components.
Typical, I just bought an SP2000 from ebay, turning up later this week. Thanks though, if it turns out to be a brick I might take you up on that. I've taken my original bricked SP2000 to bits and have damaged the internal antenna connector for the wireless SP-CT. Just bought a replacement from amazon , https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07R7V6YLL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 but the small end is too small. Does anyone know what type of connector it is inside the SP2000 ?Hi Paulca, are you still looking for an SP2000?
I have an SP3000s here sitting around doing nothing if its any good to you?
Typical! looks like I was just too late in joining this party - Oh well, its here if you need it.Typical, I just bought an SP2000 from ebay, turning up later this week. IPEX U.FL Mini MHF4 is too small.
When you say stopping at 14kw, do you mean it's taken 14kwh from the fully charged battery ? Did you go for 16S in the end or are you still on 14 ?Sounds complicated Hope you get it fixed, I'm still having issues with battery not draining fully stopping at 14kw, I've ordered a REC BMS but coming from Germany. Has anyone got any experience with Solis Inverter and REC BMS?
Think it's knackered then, they're not meant to go below 2.75 .... I'd swap it out and charge it on it's own slowly at low current ,see if it can be recovered. How balanced are your strings ? If you disconnect load and measure each string they should all be within 0.1V if the BMS is doing the bizzo.the one pack was down to 0.80 volts today.
This one I've already replaced with good working ones.Think it's knackered then, they're not meant to go below 2.75 .... that is great news, we'll doneTheres no smug face emoji .... I've fixed the SP2000 ! did a blog https://diysolarforum.com/threads/how-to-repair-a-growatt-sp2000.48071/

I think it might work for your one @Timrees that was reporting PV short circuit. If you've any spare broken ones with different error codes , feel free to PM me and I'll give you my address. @Geoffito is kindly donating an SP3000 to the cause, before long we'll have a full library of repair manuals ? ! I might have a crack at decoding the RS485 comms to the BMS next. I reckon I could use an arduino as a 'man in the middle' and record the conversation.Wow Paulca, you've set a project for yourself there. Well done! I would happily donate a SP2000 for your research. The eBay one I ordered a while ago came. I think it must've suffer the same fate as that of my original (it was sold as spares but seller said it might be fine). It's obviously been dismantled, unscrewed and played with though. Anyway, I am going to read your other post Paulca on fixing one with eager interest. Super thanks for writing the post. If I can't get any sense out of it then I will donate it for science!
I have ordered a Daly BMS after seeing others have had joy with them. I'm rather excited about fitting that. So thanks Tad, Josh, Mike, 2benz for documenting stuff. I didn't realise there were so many variations of those BMSs, but stuck with 14s and the 120a was cheaper then 100, 80 and 60a (from my favourite Chinese website!) So I thought I may as well, not that I plan on pulling 120a through of course. But I did go for the smart variety with bt so I can monitor separately. I will try to document what it does too.
I know all my cells are good in the GBLI5001 so I really want the system to work for me. Good luck everyone and keep up the good work.
Really starting to lose my faith in humanity. My new SP2000 is knackered, could smell it as soon as I opened the box. The seller advertised it as "Been sat in the shed for ages , selling as spares/repair as I have no battery to test it" .....however.... I took the front off and he'd forgotten to re-attach one of the ribbon cables, so he'd obviously taken it to bits , therefore clearly knew it was f*cked before selling it.![]()
Not tried yet, it's failed in a big way on the AC side so it'll need lots of bits capacitors, mosfets, diodes... If I had another spare one I could compare with it'd help, but now I've got one working I don't really want to take it to bits again as it's running my battery now.Did you fix
Was you able to fix this one?
I checked again today voltage was 3v, maybe its sorted itself out lets see.Think it's knackered then, they're not meant to go below 2.75 .... If you read back on this thread there was someone flogging them on ebay.anyone have battery modules for the growatt packs?

TBH @2benz , it needs so much work I'm not sure it's worth the effort. It's only worth £50 for the components in it. I wouldn't be bothered if the seller had been honest and said it had blown up in the advert, it's the fact they made out it could be working fine when they knew full well it was blown that really annoys me. I paid well over the odds for it , I've asked for a partial refund as there's no CT clamp with it, but think I might just explain the situation and see if they've got any moral values. If so, they might do the right thing and offer me a decent refund on it.Did you fix

I have 2 running in parallel, all good. Third party BMS obviouslyHas anyone ever connecting two of these GP lii-5001 batteries in parallel?
Just toying with this idea at the moment to double up capacity I know there's only one NTC sensor but if you've got a BMS in both the temperature sensing should take care of of them individually?
