diy solar

Very new to solar but started purchasing items, not sure of the final specs of the whole system.

Took about 4 hours to get down to the basement and pull the power cable but its finally done and setup.
Then took the time to rearrange the panels to get the needed room for the new inverters and now have lots of space.

I really like my watchmon units but here's a quick summary of my terrible experience with Batrium:

1. Wanted a spare unit and ordered the newer core.
2. Arrived DOA, worked with Maxine for several weeks but would not work.
3. New support person comes on, I have to pay return shipping.
4. They received it and sent me a picture.
5. Over 3 months later I asked about eta.
6. Response they say it was just found, but remember they sent a picture of it 3 months ago.
7. New support person send cryptic email about why do I want to pay for return shipping for a broken product.
8. I respond asking what they meant.
9. They respond we will not repair its my fault.
10. I respond with all the data that was gather and forwarded my emails from Maxine.
11. They respond saying since I spent so much with them they will fix it this time.
12. They will not pay return shipping, so I pay again for doa product.
13. Another month goes buy and it shows up missing the daughter board.
14. I forward their email with their picture of my core with daughter board.
15. They respond it did not work and would not repair it.
16. I respond why did you not tell me this so I could have ordered a replacement and had it sent with the core?
Now I have to pay shipping 4 times for to get a working product.

Many of the emails were cryptic, confusing and borderline insulting. I hope my watchmon 4's work for a very longtime as I will
move to some other form of monitoring if they fail.

Fedex dropped off the running boards while I was typing up my batrium experience.
I will be picking the lighting up on the dec 9th it will be an interesting 7 hour drive not including charging on the return
trip.
To help the clients in and out I ordered the widest, highest high grip drop down running boards I could find.
These were also one of the least expensive out available as well.

After the second attempt they arrived today undamaged. I was to worried with the bow in the current shelving. These are 2500lbs per shelf, total 5000lbs support and movable.

Another batrium response to me questioning why they did not tell me they were only shipping 1/2 of what I paid for. I asked that if I had known they were only fixing 1/2 of my order via the RMA warranty return I could have ordered the board and had them shipped together.

Working on the first battery and I had bought some rubber mats I could cut easily.
I'm really liking it so far it will save some space as well and no longer need to be concerned.
Just have not been looking forward to taking it all down and redoing.

Slowly getting it loaded and still very easy to move, no squeaking sounds from the wheels and feels solid.
If you plan to build your own here's the link to the company. I think this is a better solution than the racks and
adds mobility.

Zoro is the best price if you can get a 20% coupon.

Unboxed the EG4's to get space to turn around and have a few more to test before installing the copper plate.

Will be sore tomorrow, started little after 1:00 and taking a short break.
Had to start with the heating side and have moved both banks to one cart and assembling.

Set the wife's alarm clock for 4am and she got a lot done, just need to finish installing the busbars.
Two are near complete with no major mishaps but tired as I have been moving them 8 at a time.

We have open vacancies at camp solar wonderful hard labor, tons of fun very low rates sign up today for 1 week or a month .
Very tired after moving all the batteries and being super careful, I always check over and over to make sure I do not cause a major issue.
Here's how it will sort of look also the carts roll very easy with no groaning or squeaking.

Still working away, started installing the busbars on bank 4, and finishing most of the eg4 wiring.
Keeping the two growatt 12k in place and adding breakers to isolate the growatt from the eg4.
This way if there is a problem I can easily bring the 12k growatt online.

Worked non stop since the last post to finish cutting and cleaning up the busbars and almost complete.
Out of 3 inch but decided to double up on the smaller bars and see how it performs.

Wife said how much more will I install and I said hold the breakers while I install even more. I had forgotten there were 3 more I could install. This lets me further subdivide the system. Ran out of 2/0 lugs and 4/0 wire is a real pita to work with. Got the fans mounted and had to make all new wires for batrium coms / power.
