What is the optimum length for terminal studs/grub screws, to get buss bars, balance leads, and load leads on the studs?

Usual thread depth into a cell terminal is 6-7mm, Add thickness of busbar +1mm for ring terminal thickness + thickness of NUT (6mm avg) + Thickness of Lock-washer/Serrated-Washer (1-2mm pending on type).
7mm+1mm+6mm+2mm = 16mm and to leave a little room at the top 20mm length should do fine.

1/4" = 6.3mm, 1/2" = 12.mm, 3/4" = 19mm.
1/4" thick x 1/2" (12.mm) or 3/4" (19mm) wide busbars are most commonly used if making your own.

Supplied Busbars tend to be 2mm thick and between 12-15mm wide, most folks will double up on them when possible.

Hope that helps, Good Luck.

Does that leave room for bms terminals? My 120a overkill solar uses 3 8g negative cables that have 3 ring terminals that all connect to one bolt.
