Why is SquareD disconnect so much bigger than plastic PV disconnect switches?

Just started a new thread about this subject, as this is a hobby for me and I'm always tinkering, some of it I chalk up to education.

If it was designed for a PV disconnect, Square D would have it tested and certified to UL508i. Most likely it would fail due to switching speed as the throw speed is controlled by the operator and not the product.

I have Square-D 600V AC/DC 30A unfused disconnect, and 240V AC only 30A, 60A, and 100A fused disconnects.
All are spring loaded, so throw speed is snap action and not controlled by operator.
No arc chutes like a breaker has.

I wouldn't be concerned about ability to interrupt current within its operating voltage and current ratings.

These can carry 100 kA or 200 kA fault current, but probably a lower interrupting capability (as a switch, vs. fused)
Would need them to be able to interrupt locked rotor amps (up to 5x or 10x rating). Fuse or breaker should interrupt in the case of a dead short.
