EG4 Chargeverter

To run this chargeveter from utility power would a 240 volt 30 amp breaker suffice?
Yes. Technically it would put the 30 amp double pole breaker at 240 watts over the 80% continuous duty rating if you charged at 100 amps non stop.

240*30 = 7200watts
56*100 = 5600watts

Not counting for safety margins, and conversion losses.. looks like it should be good.

So according to the graph... even running full speed I should never exceed 7200 watts?

Never is a strong word considering different batteries, voltage sag, etc.. It will work on the 30amp breaker, but to be within NEC spec you would need a higher amperage circuit to meet the 80% continuous maximum. Whether you feel safe running it full bore for a long time or not is up to you. The thought process is the wiring / breaker aren't meant for that kind of long term sustained heat. I would personally run it on that circuit and not worry about it.. but.. link to music video

I have no issue running it continuously (NEC defines continous load something like this. Max draw for 3 or more hours and something else about adding 25%) BTW the EG4 CV instructions recommend 85 amps.

24 hrs disconnected.
Settings held.
No more concerns.
I'll be playing with it for a few days if anyone wants any more questions answered.
A few of us can confirm consistent results.
Yes i can confirm this as well that settings are retained.
sometimes i have to click enter couple of times if i doing it too fast after connecting AC, but the setting is back.

Yup,
I don't think that I was patient enough in the beginning. I was checking before it completely booted up.

Has anyone ordered one recently and was it shipped promptly and arrived not damaged, everyone happy with theirs so far, no surprises? Asking for a friend ;) (am reconsidering my cancellation now that they've resolved their "issues").
