(updated) Signature Solar 48v Chargeverter

This post is just informational on the new GC cable connector. Googling, I could not find the part# for the CV end of the AC input so I dismantled the connector and fortunately the pins are held on the wire with a grub screw so it can be rewired (IMG_2543). You will need to use ferrules on stranded wire (like this). I don't want to splice at the NEMA end so I'm opting to rewire this connector. First unscrew the base plastic nut securing the cable (like a flare nut). There are two tabs to push on each side with a screwdriver and force the separation of the outer housing (IMG_2545). You'll do this again with another set of tabs to separate the front connector housing (IMG_2543). It doesn't look like this last part is keyed for re-assembly so be careful during re-assembly to get the pins right, rotating the order of the pins could be a disaster! The case ground pin is on top (IMG_2545) and you can confirm by tone continuity testing the 3 pins to find the case ground.

Is is possible to charge EG4 batteries with the Chargeverter, while still connected to an EG4 inverter?

Or should the battery breaker on the inverter be shut off?

Yes
No problem using multiple charging sources. As long as the combined amperage doesn't exceed the manufacturers recommendations.

What about at night with no PV? If the load on the inverter exceeds the charging amperage from the Chargeverter, do the batteries pick up the load? Or is the chargeverter/generator overloaded?

Battery picks up. As long as it isn't dead.
