EG4 18kPV issues - turning on and off repeatedly at sunrise and sunset

I got some help from Markus, he has different settings he can change that I don't see on my EG4 monitoring interface, one of those being "Start PV Volt(V)". Mine was set to 140 and he changed it to 280. The sun is about to go down so we'll see if the sunset trips my power and after sunrise tomorrow I'll report back.

I'm not sure if it was 140 prior to the 1717 firmware or why that upgrade started this problem though.

Interested in if it "fixes the glitch" I do not plan to turn off the AC coupled solar. I do not have any solar DC connected. I do have another array connected to another inverter. I could lengthen those DC wires and run to my EG4 and drive up the overall solar.

I would like to help you. Can you pm me

Just to clarify, I have no AC input, only solar DC input + grid. Waiting on my 2 PowerPros...

Looks like increasing the "Start PV Volt(V)" value fixed my issues. Thanks @Markus_EG4

For anyone having this issue, I don't think you can change this value your self for some reason, need to contact EG4 (ie: Markus) to get it done.

What was it set to and what did you increase it to?

Kinda makes sense, just wondering.

it was at 140v start up this is enough to turn the inverter on. He has no battery so when it was reaching 140v it was trying to switch over to pv. When this happens and the sun is being blocked or going up and down the inverter is switching to PV and switch back opening and closing the relay. I changed it to 280v start instead because thats really when you can start supporting a small load with PV alone.

I also had to select that he didnt have batteries PV Off grid is what the setting is labeled on the app right now but its being changed to No Battery so it makes more sense.

Wouldn't it make more sense to set the threshold based on wattage?
You could easily hit xxx voltage on a cloudy day but not make any usable power.

I have the same issue with the lux 12k us

Firmware FAAB-1717

Where it would turn off and on 12 to 15 times in the morning every minute or so.

Also happened once in the evening.

I've changed the Start pv voltage from 140 to 250v. edit it seems to have fixed the issue.

Seems like it could be a Firmware issue.
Or have something to do with the vmp voltage of the pv array.

I get the same on/off at sunrise and sunset on my MPP Solar LV2424 and just thought it's normal. Most mornings it doesn't wake us up but the relay clicking does get annoying. It's been doing thos for over 3 years. It's almost an alarm clock that competes with a rooster if one is around.
