Sollega Ballast Ground Mounts (Iron Ridge Supplier)

Most angle of all ballasted ground mounts?

I do not know.

Might be adjustable ballasted ground mounts out there.

My optimal angle here is 30 but 25 works fine for me.
Yeah, seems 25 is a good bit more than most the others, which is appealing

Snow is certainly a factor. PowerRacks sit only 9 inches high at the low edge. But we have a lot of happy customers in snowy areas...CO, UT, Tahoe, MN, WI, MI, VT, NH...

Snow and ice can build up at the module frame no matter how high off the ground it is. And at least with PRs, you can reach them easily to brush or blow it off.

I don’t know if their wind tunnel tests included from the rear - maybe it did - but keep in mind that the buckets themselves leave only about half of the back of the panels exposed to wind pressure, so I’m sure that helps.
Yes, @AZ Solar Junkie and @42OhmsPA, for wind ratings the system has to withstand the wind from any direction.

Was interested in these but shipping is a killer. From NAZ, 5 power fields are $449 + $450 for old dominion freight to North Carolina. That’s ridiculous.

@Patrick at PowerField

With all due respect, you are dead to me until something is done about the shipping cost.
Ha, nice. I like the "due respect" and "dead" in proximity. But really, I get it. If only we had control over the shipping industry.

Maybe we've talked about this before, but the plan is that as we grow we'll be able to get more warehouses carrying inventory in more distributed locations, which will bring down the "last mile" shipping costs to a broader area. We're working on it!

Yup NAZ charge me $1000 for 120 of them just for shipping.
Technically 119.

I thought that was outrageous but that’s NAZ not Powerfield.

Have you tried DigiKey?

On a unit basis, that's actually pretty reasonable at $8.40 each.

What kills me is that it's less about weight and more about bulk, shipping 10 vs. 5 shouldn't affect the price that much, but it's almost always calculated linearly.

Yup.
119 units was on 2 pallets when I got them..
Not really heavy just bulky.

I shouldn’t complain though cost me $2000 shipping to get Sinclair rack that I sold.

Shipping airspace isn't cheap...
Maybe an autonomous PowerRack with a solar panel attached and free delivery is in the works (delivery times vary based on ☀)
@42OhmsPA, circling back to the idea of "autonomous" racking, folks are definitely working on that. For example, Nick Carter over at Solar Installation Machines. See the early Sollega version in action here. He's working on designs for a PowerRack system also. Fun stuff.
