Hi Chaps

Ive a few quick-fire questions for ya

No1
why do some battery chargers quote cells (ie for a 16s battery)
I am after a second, cheap charger powered from UK mains 230v and to charge my rack batteries of 52v

No2
with fuses and brakers, what one first?? (so lets say from your battery to the inverter if we call batter being point A)

Because some companies CHEAT and make 15S packs so their nominal voltage is 48V and not 51.2 (16S x 3.2Vpc)

Fuses at Battery Pack are the accepted norm. Breakers can be used but that can be more complicated.
A system can have Fuses and/or breakers. Breakers can introduce some complications some of which is due to code/inspection requirements... Some will allow DINrail Breakers in the open while others insist on all breakers being in a rated box. Some allow for PVC Breaker Boxes, others don't and require metal boxes...

One can use ALL Fuses or a combo of Fuses & Breakers.
A Typical installation will have a FUSE per battery pack and use DC Breakers for everything else.
BATT to Common DC Bus get a fuse (breakers optional & trickier)
Solar IN - Breaker -> SCC
Solar Out - Breaker SCC --> Batt
Common DC Bus to Inverter/Charger or AIO - Breaker (Max Pull for device "not" incl Surge potential)
Inverter AC OUT to go through AC Breaker (rated for max Amps output by Inverter)
