I was wondering what everyones ideas and best practices are concerning maintaining their systems?

Some of the things that i regularly do are clean my panels when they appear dirty, annually check all connections to ensure they are tight and damage free, cleaning filters on my charge controllers and inverter, check combiner box for wasp nests and dirt dobbers etc.

Any other ideas or tips for proper system maintenance?

wasp nests and dirt dobbers etc

I don't know if it's the hornets or wasps that build these "dirt dobber" nests, but those things are nasty. Like mud and saliva mixed together and then it dries into a crumbly cement-like stuff. It's kinda stiff but will scrape off without too much effort. I don't have any of this on my solar stuff (everything but the panels are indoors), but I think this stuff could wreak havoc on electronics if these critters got into the wrong places!
