ChinaIs that ex China or ex Houston?
Awesome. On a whim, I checked the sales on the Micro Center site. They had a gaming PC in which every component was on my configuration choice list. No compromises.
For twenty bucks less than my self-build.
And it came with a warranty.
I did get in on this deal with the Gobel cells when the cells with $71 each and included shipping to my door. Total was $1319 to my door. They arrived some time ago, cells were very nice quality and balanced well. For thirty years, starting with Apple II, I've built my own Desktops. When I started, it required buying and soldering every component on an empty PCB, building a case out of wood, modifying a surplus keyboard to work with it, and cobbling together a power supply from scratch. I actually enjoyed it.
I've saved a butt-load of money over the years building one-generation-removed PCs, rather than a state-of-the-art machine that's lost its shine in six months.
More recently, my existing machine was over five years old, and it was "second tier" when I built it. I was looking to build a new second tier gaming PC the month after the new 3000 series Nvidia boards hit the stores. I picked out my chosen components (brand and model), with a couple options for each. Priced it all out. Got funding approval.

No brainer, and I had plenty of other things going on at the time that I didn't need a hobby.
I've been thinking of getting another 16 of the rept 280Ah for $78.50 each out of Houston. Their welded terminals have a huge flat surface area for the bus bars.I did get in on this deal with the Gobel cells when the cells with $71 each and included shipping to my door. Box from Luyuan would be about $350, JK another $125 with screen, Class T $75 from Don Rowe. Total would be $1869. That is a better deal than the previous Luyuan build. Cells keep getting cheaper ........
$77+5%? Mine were $75+5%. Lot better than some of the panel prices these days. They're now $77.
Just ran into this third outdoor LFP offering from Linotech: https://liniotech.com/ul9540a-ul1973-ce-emc-ground-outdoor-power-storage-wall-ltn14000u/It’s good to see cells continue to drop in price as well…
SS ‘Indoor’ battery is $3300 but it is in a heated enclosure, certified 9540, and has a 10-year warranty.
Chacun son gout but I consider that more than enough added value combined with much less hassle / work to steer myself away from building another DIY LFP for about the same cell cost as yours and to purchase an OTB outside wallmount battery such as the EG4 PowerPro Allweather.
Also, another member pointed out another OTB outside ~wallmount introduced to the market by Midnight Solar: https://www.midnitesolar.com/productPhoto.php?product_ID=768&productCat_ID=67&sortOrder=1&act=p
The MN Powerflo 16 is $3999 for 16.1kWh = $0.248/Wh without shipping (slightly less than the discounted PowerPro).
It includes: ‘Comprehensive safety UL1973,UL9540A,UL9540 on cell and module level with enhanced onboard fire-extinguishing modules.’ and comes with a 15-year warranty (versus 10 years for the PowerPro) from an established US company.
The added safety of being mounted outside my house versus in my basement (or added cost & hassle if you want to go to the trouble of adding in-house fire safety to code) more than swamps out any perceived cost savings (at least to me).

$3799 for 16.38kWh and UL9540A certified…
$0.232/Wh (new low in the outdoor-mounted weatherproof class…).
105.6% the price of the EG4 Power Pro for 115% the capacity.
Pricing coming down on UL listed batteries when you compare to US supplied cells down to less then $1000 difference. If I'm buying from 18650 store are they requiring paid shipping on a bad cell back to them. Shipping on a single battery cell could be $50-80 easy.Just ran into this third outdoor LFP offering from Linotech: https://liniotech.com/ul9540a-ul1973-ce-emc-ground-outdoor-power-storage-wall-ltn14000u/

I would just buy one extra for the future anyway. So I guess I expect 1 cell on each 16s pack to not behave either initially or eventually.Shipping on a single battery cell could be $50-80 easy.
I liked the comment from a member - get four extra cells, after picking the best for the main battery, you can then use the four poorer ones for make a 4s-12v battery.I would just buy one extra for the future anyway. I just had to exchange four 280k cells from 18650batterystore and they paid for shipping.Pricing coming down on UL listed batteries when you compare to US supplied cells down to less then $1000 difference. What was the issue with the cells?I just had to exchange four 280k cells from 18650batterystore and they paid for shipping.
Bent terminals. The cells were packaged in sets of four and it seemed like one of the packages had been handled roughly. What was the issue with the cells?
That's the only thing that worries me about those double terminals, so easy to bend those down due to shipping forces.Bent terminals. The cells were packaged in sets of four and it seemed like one of the packages had been handled roughly.
Glad luyaun shipped two cells per box. That's the only thing that worries me about those double terminals, so easy to bend those down due to shipping forces.
