Larger volume sales companies are more likely to be audited by States so they are better off collecting the sales tax from you rather than having to pay the taxes later themselves. States don't waste their time on smaller companies.

Hello, I am actually the Owner of Solar Sovereign I wanted to chime in on the whole sales tax situation because a lot of people seem to be curious about it:

Companies only have to collect Sales Tax if they have established a nexus in that said state, which is a certain amount of sales most of the time,
So since we are based in Texas we have to collect sales tax in Texas, For Solar Sovereign we also have to collect sales tax in around 7 other states now since we have "established a nexus in that said state"
