Another warning against Xuba:

Ordered in march and got the cells last week. I've inspected and they are grade B cells as expected minor issues that wont affect use. However I have one cell with a major issue. The vent seal has been popped. As sshibly found they wont give a refund or assist in any way for the faulty cell. They say it isnt their fault... No damage to boxes and they showed their photo of the cells they sent so they aren't doing anything.

Avoid, there are now better companys to deal with as others have found.
thank you for sharing your experience

I had problems with Xuba over three bad cells. I argued with them for over 2 months. It was not until they knew I was a member of this forum that "all of a sudden", they were willing to help me out.
I now have the three replacements and they are doing just fine. :)
Just in case anyone wanted to know. ;)

I said to Pina that I am a member of this forum and that i ordered based on prior good performance. Hasn't made any difference. I wont be loosing sleep, but have placed bad reviews to warn others. Companys that act like this will not do well.

REFRESHER: I am the Original Poster of this Thread. When this was Posted, I & the members here were dealing with Amy Wan who has since left XUBA and took over (ownership) of Luyuan Technologies. She and her company are a KNOWN GOOD VENDOR with numerous members here buying cells from Luyuan. I DO NOT & CANNOT SUPPORT XUBA SINCE and cannot Recommend them.

I ordered all mine through Xuba when Amy was there and one came in it had a residue on one near the vent so I set it aside because I ordered 17. Then the vent kept opening more and more as it sat. Amy replaced it just before she left Xuba.

They just sent me a new one and didn't want the old one back.
I started running a 17 cell pack and wanted to try an 18 cell pack so I put the slightly leaking one in for 18 cells and it has been running fine and not leaking at all....it is even mounted on its side.

My hybrid inverter can charge up to 64 VCD so it works great. Each cell is about 1kWh, so I now have a ~18kWh pack.

Do you mean the cover for the vent seal or has the cell actually vented. Did the cell leak?

Not the blue plastic cover, the silver aluminium foil inside. It hasnt leaked, or at least doesnt look like it has.

That could be a cosmetic defect. Hard to tell. But if you don't smell the electrolyte then the cell's vent may still be intact. And if you don't smell the electrolyte when you charge the cell then it might be ok. Can you post a photo?

NM...I see it in your thread.

At least you got it. I know someone who has been waiting just for a confirmation that an order has been shipped or anything since the new year holiday in China.

Just another heads up. Since Amy left they are not very good at keeping their word. I am waiting for a reply to simple question now for over a week. After two weeks total if nothing, then I will write them off as well.
Things have gone very badly in the last few months with Xuba. And it does not look like they want to change at all.

I usually give these guys ONE chance and then its Credit Card company time .... a while back I had the same thing happen -- one bad cell and they were giving me pushback ... I talked to Mastercard -- they told me to figure out how much ONE battery was - for me to attach the emails from the company showing their reluctance to help -- and within 24 hours that battery was refunded ... Most CCC have insurance on your purchases ... I had a friend recently that broke a very nice bottle of wine - called Mastercard - they refunded her the bottle -- all she had to do was send pictures of the bottle and us crying ...

I wish I had a credit card [never had one]. If I did I would order more stuff because of the safety.
As it is, my bank wouldn't protect me from a bad deal if their life depended on it.
I had to go through my bank to get my cells, They charged me $50 for the privilege.
With no protection if the deal went south either.

I am glad things went well for you though. :)

Update on my 1100mah XUBA battery bank I purchased back when Amy was at Xuba. I installed them in my sailboat and have been cruising full-time for 6months with these and ZERO problems. I've crossed the Gulf of Mexico and I'm now down in the Dominican Republic. Regularly take them down to ~25% and then back up. The primarily sit in the 40-70% range. I use an REC-BMS and it too has been flawless hooked up to my Victron chargers.

Thanks. I enjoy reading updates like these and is more confirmation LFE cells hold up very well if taken care of and not abused... :)

Yes I actually talk to these guys often just to be clear though I am not dealing with xuba its another company who deals in EVE cells. They are very responsive though. I have never had any issues with my paypal debit card other than it has a $3000.00 day limit so often times we need to arrange for multiple payments. which works fine.
Mind sharing this “other company that accepts PayPal please ? Some earlier mentioned XUBA does not accept PayPal anymore.
Thank you
