diy solar

Cheapest 48v 50ah battery I've found so far. $409.99 free shipping

I want to get another one at this price but I do not think I have enough PV. I would like to keep at least 1kw per 50 amp hour battery.

I bet many will agree, depending on the use case of course, that the more storage the better. PV should be dependant on usage, not necessarily on storage. I would go at least 100ah (5.1kwh) battery per 1kw of solar.

50 Ah x 50V = 2500W

1 kW PV x 6 hours effective sun = 6 kWh/day

What do you plan to do with the other 3500 Wh?

Me, I wouldn't mind more battery (have about 1 kW PV per 25 Ah battery) but I don't want to spend the money. While grid is down, loads run PV direct during the day and most production is curtailed.

Depending on time of year, I am not going to get that much sun and our usage is pretty low (2500 watt hours a day) at most unless using future A/C load which will be used mainly during daylight hours. No grid, minimal gennie use.

I am coming from lead acid sizing, I think I see my flawed way of looking at this. I do not need to reach full charge every few days.
Just was looking at recommended charge rate of 25 amps, 1kw of PV is almost that.

The fit. Unfortunately I realized the wheels are attached to the bottom in two sections which means the front half of the floor is only held on with two screws. I decided to add some pop rivets and will probably add some kind of base to distribute load to the front frame. It wasn’t falling apart but I’m paranoid about flexing during transport

Would anyone ground the battery cases? I will ground the cabinet since the inverter will be attached
