SRNE 12kW IP65 HES and 10kW ASP

Passing on some information from Borick.
  1. Regarding whether SRNE could fix the issue of setting 62 must be 50% or higher to avoid issue of ASP becoming stuck in bypass mode after fault shutdown, their answer was, "sorry, there is no way for the software to make changes at this time."
  2. Regarding whether there's a corresponding issue with setting 05 (is there a minimum required value for setting 05 to avoid the same stuck-in-bypass-mode issue?), their answer was, "the technician's recommendation is to set it as default. The problems created by the change cannot be predicted at this time."
  3. Borick provided a link to SRNE website (https://energy-for-all.notion.site/Solar-Storage-Inverter-624ddace6b81479fb5a3a2add895bf0d) that has additional configuration details not found in the manual.

Mine was $1600 from amazon before taxes and I think $1800 and something with tax.

Its shows to be delivered this friday.
What did you get from Amazon? Can you provide a link? I searched your posts in this thread and couldn't find it.

I got a single sungold ASP clone I think.

Here is a link to it :

SUNGOLDPOWER 10000W 48V Hybrid Inverter, Built-in 2 MPPT Solar Controllers, Max 200A Battery Charging, AC Input/Output 120V/240V(settable),Pure Sine Wave Inverter(Parallel/WiFi/BMS COMM) UL1741

You're thinking that SGP on Amazon is the equivalent of an SRNE ASP48100U200-H ? Be interesting to see what you actually get when you unbox it. Keep us posted, please.

If this is the same as what @42OhmsPA bought from them before except it can run parallel then I think so. If its not the same as what he has the other thread on then no.

This is the sungold version that can run in parallel.

I'm interested in how this works out as I plan on using both of those when I get it installed.

I was reading the manual and it says if you enable time slot discharging it forces UTI mode which you can't have with MIX LOAD. So that probably is where the problem lies.

This is what the SRNE technicians answered me.
Thanks

FWI:
I message SRNE service regarding a USB communications issue I had between the ASP and my PC, where once ever 30 to 60 minutes I would hear a relay click from the inverter and then my computer would ding indicating a disconnecting usb device... The disconnected device was the usb cable going to the inverter. I had to manually go into the iPower software and re-enable the com port (sometimes it took 1-5 minutes to see the port again).

Just got a response back from SRNE service:
According to them, you can not have the wifi module and usb connected at the same time!
If you plan on connecting the inverter to your pc, then the wifi module has to be disconnected and vise versa.
Same goes for rs-485... only one item connected at one time. Either wifi module, the PC or Rs-485 mode for battery communications.

Only way I can see of connecting the inverter, battery bms and PC at the same time would be to use an rs-485 to usb converter, that way the inverter only sees rs-485 devices connected.

Solar Assistant will set you free.
It's good to see SRNE support is replying.

SRNE buying JOURNEY

Below is 12kW Price got quoted with DDP …..I don’t recommend DDU shipping from china after researching it.
Borick on Alibaba SRNE SEI-12kW ~$2244.00 USA delivered DDP my door if I agree add taxes and the bs charge exchange fee. I think Compared to LuxPower 12kW this is a bargain..the EG4 AT RATED 12kW AC output are close to $4898 plus shipping unless specified free shipping as special on Signature Solar website. SRNE looks like from surface as a better deal to me.

This Alibaba BORICK as others have used to purchase has been the only place I've seen that is straight up with no bs .

DDU will be unknown extra cost from OTHERS …..the borick DDP is all paid up front by seller after purchase agreement. I - we really pay all cost. With DDU you can or will spend unknown amount more ….so….choice is yours with some sellers. I want everything up front in writing so recommend DDP with Alibaba…shipping handling custom fees taxes…all handled by seller after the deal is finalized. Any pop up extra is on you with DDU. Several tried get ddu deal only.

Borick deal.
IMG_7102.jpeg

The place on Alibaba called Green Sun is cheaper but DDU shipping is additional cost later which runs price up. They will do DDP but cost more and longer to deliver….and they insist on DDU until eay going elsewhere so Green Sun was out.

Watt Solar Co on Alibaba stated all in at $2100 still waiting on confirmation for DDP or DDU because it was not listed. Make sure you got it in writing… do not assume. .You get a contract read it.

Unfortunately it is slow going in message conversations unless stay up late at night. There are a lot of bait and switch on Alibaba too. Some will try push high 10piece order when advertised 1 piece. Some try to pitch Megarvo when advertised DEYE or SRNE.

The last quote for SRNE ASP from Borick was $885 + ~$314 under ~$1200 ddp plus additional for tax (on Alibaba. The more you buy the better deal you can get.

The cost for shipping vary day to day from what am seeing. If you keep talking to them the sellers with high minimum will sometimes drop to just 1 unit. They haggle. If you have never haggled it is a lost art of getting lower prices going back and forth in conversations. It was typical everywhere in USA. Some ppl here haggle for cars and property pricing - options here. Some ppl here pay asking price or more for things. That is choice. Especially when covered by easy return warranty so can see higher price piece of mind. I strongly recommend ppl get things out and verify it works right away with anything once you get it. Don’t let it sit on shelf until return policy expires. I have done that…it is awful…stuck with it.

So far Borick on Alibaba is the best pricing. Make sure you are getting a parallel unit if you plan to expand later on and not ASF mixed bag right now. . The PowMr 10k parallel is cheaper then their own rebranded PowMr ASF version.

Nobody likes to over pay. Best to wait for sale. Prices usually drop but not always guaranteed. They jumped up dramatically on AliExpress $1600+ for ASP10kw. Some things go up in price. Again if not interested in parallel operation have seen the ASF with other relabels even cheaper... Don’t screw up and get the European versions either.

As side note The Europeans can buy Deye inverters 230vac all day long but none are allowed to be sold to the USA 120/240 . That is what I originally wanted = a Deye inverter USA specs. Not going to happen.

ASP-10kW Price jumped up today on AliExpress ...from what have seen it is typical on there. It may drop tomorrow or might not.
Notice list price increase.

After much debate with myself am in the SRNE'er ASP-10kW Club and have ordered mine. This unit should provide everything I need for emergency back up. I have considered several inverters but this one looks best for money .... I shall see. My deal price below. Money left over to buy some new solar panels or more batteries. Hopefully no hassle swapping over Solar Assistant to new SRNE.

Great to see the research - laid out for all to review. Thanks !
Now we all want to see your build and report on how it does for you, and SA comms !

Myself I am damn tempted to order a pair of the 12kW and rebuild the Solar Power Plant, reducing three (existing inverters) to two 12kW would open up space for another tower of LFP DIY batteries...oh boy then the $$$$$$$ would be flowing out the door again!

Hello everyone! Possible new member of your happy community here.

FYI, I messaged SRNE's Alibaba store to get some info, I was asked if the inverter I wanted to buy was for personal use, I said it was, and was told they'd message me with their other account, and Borick's Alibaba store messaged me. So either Borick is SRNE's store for retail end users, or the person I messaged with works for both stores.

Another tidbit: ASF/ASP are NOT to be used grid-tied. Although they have a setting to export power to the grid, they don't have anti-islanding, so better not export anything. Anyone here can confirm this, or is everyone using their ASP/ASF with no export? Is there any extra hardware/software that could rapidly disconnect it from the grid if the grid goes down?

HESP/SEI are grid-tie-capable, since they do have anti-islanding, respond to frequency shifting, and they're UL-listed (UL1741SB).

Another feature only found in HESP/SEI US variants is their ability to run three-phase 208Y/120V. With just one inverter you can get two legs of the three-phase system (L1 and L2 phases offset 120°), and connecting two or more inverters in parallel gives you all three legs. This is crucial for me because I live in a city in Mexico that uses a 220Y/127V three-phase system, but for home use only one and two legs are readily available; getting all three legs is doable but more complicated. So I'd be running a few volts under my nominal voltages, but still within the normal operational range, and the HESP/SEI can work with up to 140V per leg.

BTW, I got quoted by Borick on an HESP 10kW @ US$1700 + $865 shipping DDU (overweight big boy) + import taxes here in Mexico (16% AFAIK). That went over my budget so decided to keep searching. Found a PowMr-rebadged SEI 12kW on Aliexpress @ USD$2300 DDP. Was about to pull the trigger but then I saw @D71 's post with Borick's deal with USD$465 shipping DDP, so I'll go ask Borick again.

That's what I ran into as well, SRNE store is selling to installers / resellers only now. Borick is where most of us have ordered from.

I had my ASF connected to the grid for most of the winter, I never enabled the export function and never had an issue with back feed that I am aware of; I ran primarily in SBU mode.
My ASPs will not be connected to the grid, not so much because I'm worried about export but it's more of a learning exercise to see how I will survive "off grid". Someday I'll build a completely off grid home.

Seeing you are in Mexico have you looked at Deye?

This is very interesting, I compared the weights and the EG4 weighs about 30lbs more 🤔

An excellent deal irregardless at half the price

Interesting.
I did not look at weight …. I looked at stated 12kW output from both units for their price points. There are several things most likely - different. I don’t like the way they EG4 and others are rating inverters by pv vs ac output now. My older inverter just gained 1000w in bs advertising.
