EVE Official Alibaba Store, the end of Luyuan and other alibaba sellers?

Do you have a test report for the MB30? According to EVE's datasheet, the MB31 is supposed to have a larger capacity than the MB30, but Andy from Off-Grid Garage found almost no difference in his capacity tests.
Regarding the MB30:

  • We've contacted the original EVE factory team, and they currently don't have stock of MB30 cells in China. It would take approximately 20 days to produce new cells and publish a datasheet.
  • Based on Andy's video, it's difficult to confirm if he used genuine EVE MB30 cells or pre-production units.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot share an MB30 datasheet or export sheet at this time because neither we nor the factory have current stock.
Considering these factors, we recommend waiting for the official MB30 release with its datasheet to ensure accurate capacity information. While we have good news regarding the MB31:

  • We have a fresh stock of MB31 cells readily available for shipment from our California warehouse. Prices range from $90 USD to $103 USD per cell, depending on delivery address.
  • If your friend in the US is interested in the MB31, please don't hesitate to contact us for further details and purchase options. We will attached export datasheet for them.

Sincerely, Emily Wong

So anyone order from this “official” seller?
UPDATE NEWS:

EVE highlighted their newest battery offerings, the MB30 and MB31 models, at the SNEC Shanghai Exhibition held from June 13th to 15th, 2024. EVE's breakthrough technology empowers customers and revolutionizes how technology improves and energizes people's lives. :) Amazing

So anyone order from this “official” seller?
I realize this thread is pretty old, and I'm new on the forum, so feel free to take with a grain of salt :) I ordered a pallet from them, 120x LF280K. I had them shipped to my business address (unrelated to solar). 45 days to ship, the another 45 days to arrive by boat + truck.

I did confirm this is Eve prior to ordering. If you go to the MFG web page, it links from there to their Alibaba store.

So you’re happy with the cells?

How did it compared on price delivered per cell? Still seeing around <$90?

Yeah, I think $57.90ea but after shipping and customs it was about $81/ea. About 3 months to the day for delivery so gotta plan ahead

I haven't tested anything yet beyond initial voltage, arrived 3.29-3.30v as stated, looks to all to be manufactured Jan 22, 2024

18650 has the MB31 in stock stateside no waiting and ready to order. SFK is supposed to have rept 320s soon in and if So it may be worth the trip to pick up a pallet of these.

what happened to Ezeal and Batteryhookup no more items in stock?

And neither do they once you add transaction fees, sales tax and other baloney fees its closer to $100.00/cell
This guy bought 120 Eve 280 cells:

FOR MB31? Send link I want to see this.

As for the 280K, yeah you can get hat for $85.00 delivered from many places with busbars/fiberglass sheets, pretty sure what is what Luyuan is charging.

I actually contacted them asking if they keep stock in Europe few weeks ago. It was quite difficult to get an answer. Eventually I found if I ordered 16 cells they'd ship from the EU, but I still don't know if they have them available or would they ship to a warehouse and forward upon order. Price wise it is pretty much the same as resellers.

Have people proven these MB31 are the cats meow?

I mean sure they have a couple % more capacity vs the 280kv3? But in a $/whr difference is it a better buy for 20-30ah more per cell?

Loves to see how they have held up over 100 cycles or so.

Yeah, not MB31, these were LF280K v3. Not sure if MB31 was out when I ordered these in March? But i wasn't looking for other sizes either. I also assumed tariffs were 7.5%, there was another line at 3.4% as well, no idea what it was for. $81 was cost after all taxes, shipping, etc.

Related FYI for USA - I read tariffs were going up Aug 1st from 7.5% to 25% on batteries from China. I don't know if Aug 1st deadline is the order date, shipping date, or import date, but you'd be hard pressed to get them to ship before then. Something to keep in mind

Yes! US Tariffs is clime to 25% from next Month, logistic cost was increasing already. :fp

Batteries, Battery Components and Parts, and Critical Minerals

The tariff rate on lithium-ion EV batteries will increase from 7.5%% to 25% in 2024, while the tariff rate on lithium-ion non-EV batteries will increase from 7.5% to 25% in 2026. The tariff rate on battery parts will increase from 7.5% to 25% in 2024.

The tariff rate on natural graphite and permanent magnets will increase from zero to 25% in 2026. The tariff rate for certain other critical minerals will increase from zero to 25% in 2024.

Despite rapid and recent progress in U.S. onshoring, China currently controls over 80 percent of certain segments of the EV battery supply chain, particularly upstream nodes such as critical minerals mining, processing, and refining. Concentration of critical minerals mining and refining capacity in China leaves our supply chains vulnerable and our national security and clean energy goals at risk. In order to improve U.S. and global resiliency in these supply chains, President Biden has invested across the U.S. battery supply chain to build a sufficient domestic industrial base. Through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Defense Production Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act, the Biden-Harris Administration has invested nearly $20 billion in grants and loans to expand domestic production capacity of advanced batteries and battery materials. The Inflation Reduction Act also contains manufacturing tax credits to incentivize investment in battery and battery material production in the United States. The President has also established the American Battery Materials Initiative, which will mobilize an all-of-government approach to secure a dependable, robust supply chain for batteries and their inputs.

Soooooo,
is a Prismatic LFP cell an "EV battery" or not?
(and does Canada have similar dates set for tarrifs yet, or do we still have time!)
It totally depends on what you install it in.
Does it go in a car? EV.
Does it go in a rack box? Not EV.
Right?

Yeah I know, not that simple.

I just don't know what metric they use to determine if that crate of cells coming in is subject to the EV tariff or not. A container of cells could be used for either purpose, or heck even both.

Didn’t want to take a chance, the reason I ordered early. The old saying “a bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush”.

If prices don’t go up for components I have the option to order again in the future. In the meantime I have what I need and if prices do go up I am not directly affected.

Agreed,
Really I have a big enough ESS for now, but...I'd be so happy to double it's capacity...one day.

I think I will put on the import paper work - "Electric Wheel chair" - where it asks for the purpose of the battery...
