Hello all,

According to the manufacturer, balancing is suppose to start when the diff between any two battery is above 100mV.
That has not happened; i can tell because the balancing board's LED do not light up and I don't see voltage getting more balanced.

I've attached a picture of the inductive balancer beside the voltage readings of the battery pack and another pic of my entire storage setup. As reference, here is a link to the board on aliexpress.

I'd appreciate any advice or hint that will help me troubleshoot the issue.

Cheers

If it’s like the capacitive haltech ones lights should be on when it’s plugged it.

Where did you order this one from?

What cells are those?

Can you post a link?

Double check your connections. It's a bit hard to tell from your pictures exactly where each wire from the balancer goes.

I suggest you disconnect the balancer wire loom from the balancer and check the voltages on the connector itself (from most negative to each positive).

I think that balance the systeem only gone do after all cells are above 3.40 volt
And you do not hit 3.65 volt so it still save for the cells.

Just charge till all cells are on above 3.40 volt and under 3.65 volt.
I do not know if use a bms with this systeem.
So you have to see your self till it hit that volts

I've tripple checked the cabling as you've recommended, all is in order.

by now 3 out of 4 are above 3.4V and yet no balancing. The board instructions did not mention anything about a minimum voltage, just that if there is a delta of over 100mV.
I can try to disconnect the BMS, but I don't expect it to solve the issue, they should be able to work together.

Least you’re not out a ton of money.

Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! $13.15 | Heltec Wholesale Active Equalizer Balancer 5A 3S-21S 4S 6S 7S 8S 14S 16S 17S 20S 21S Lifepo4/Lipo/LTO Battery Energy Capacitor

I have read that.
But normal all bms that have balance beult in do only top balance option.
And that is if its between 3.40 and 3.65 volt .

If this unit is only a balance systeem .
Its will be normal that its program for top balance only .
Normal you do that with full cells .

Looks like a clone from this model.

Some of the balancers won't kick in unless all cells are above 3.45 +/- a little. Also have to give it time to balance.

I really like my Neey 4th generation 4A model.

I had those things and they are useless, all they did was blink the light every now and then and that is all. Poo Poo.

Get a 5 amp one with capacitors they call it the flying capacitor balancing board:
