Corn Pop was a bad dude.
How bad? I had 2 280ks that were slightly bent as well. I figured the flexible bus bar was making it a non issue.some bent terminals
Any pictures?

Yep. Two of them are bent all the way, one about halfway, and one is barely bent. I almost feel like the one that’s barely bent is useable but I worry about the integrity of the cell. I have a family so I’m trying to be pretty cautious about this build. I do have class T fuses at least. How bad? I had 2 280ks that were slightly bent as well. Yeah this is worse than mine. I probably would still use them but that is just me. What is 18650 doing about it? It would be interesting if you updated here.Yep. Not a lot of crush room in that packaging, any serious impact on top could cause that?Yep. Two of them are bent all the way, one about halfway, and one is barely bent. Must have changed the ferrules after I received mine. That would be an improvement.Luyuan shipped 2 280k per box, nice and flat.
The ferrules provided for the circuit breaker were flared tinned so it was easy to reslide when they fell off when I was reviewing parts.
I got flared and tinned as well. Ordered and recieved 3 months agoMust have changed the ferrules after I received mine. That would be an improvement.
The busbar between each side should have been tinned, was yours?
Ordered in March and received mine in April on the 25th.I got flared and tinned as well. Ordered and recieved 3 months ago

Steve or others who may know. I have 8 280's from Amy that I run in a 24 V configuration for one RV and a 12 Volt for the other. I have a plywood case and then just reconfigure them. Could I do that with one of these 24V cases and just change the cells connections and BMS or is there a physical barrier to such a configuration with these cases? That's an 18650 Company problem and they should exchange those. They cannot be trusted. The pads those are attached to are attached internally obviously and that connection point can't be stressed or damaged. They "might" be ok but not likely and less likely over time.
BTW: THIS IS A LUYUAN CASE THREAD ! Let's keep to relevant topics
Thats what drills are for.is there a physical barrier to such a configuration with these cases?
The bus bar between cell 4 and 5 is tinned, no heat shrink though.Must have changed the ferrules after I received mine. That would be an improvement.

You could easily do a 2p4s with the case and provided hardware.Steve or others who may know. I have 8 280's from Amy that I run in a 24 V configuration for one RV and a 12 Volt for the other. Sometimes you need to build what. You need, made it out of used plywood crate and insulated it.Has anyone tried this battery case from Luyuan for a 16s build with EVE 280Ah?

1) You can transfer your cells over without issues.Steve or others who may know. I have 8 280's from Amy that I run in a 24 V configuration for one RV and a 12 Volt for the other. Yes, huge problem with that.I did clean up the flexible bus bar insulation with a utility knife.
Which makes me wonder why my boxes had the non tinned ferrules and the non tinned crossover bus bar. Then add in the wrong size hole for the breaker.Pretty close in time
Seems like asking for the "Steve model" doesn't necessarily mean you'll get his specific config?Which makes me wonder why my boxes had the non tinned ferrules and the non tinned crossover bus bar. Then add in the wrong size hole for the breaker.
I’d say I got what I expected (minus the lack of my knowledge of a BMS bus plate)Seems like asking for the "Steve model" doesn't necessarily mean you'll get his specific config?
I didn't ask for the Steve model as it did not exist at the time. I actually ordered around end of February and had to wait for the Chinese holiday to end before the boxes were built.Seems like asking for the "Steve model" doesn't necessarily mean you'll get his specific config?
I agree. I bought an EEL 48v 280k box at the same time as the luyuan. The EEL arrived first. I put it together first. It was nice.I didn't ask for the Steve model as it did not exist at the time. I can say the product is not consistent. For example, I setup the balance leads using the same bottom case and found the bars that hold the balance leads are not the same length from box to box. I haven't assembled that box yet but I'll probably have to add another sheet or two of poron to take up the extra length.
It is an OK product if you can tinker. If you are not handy, might be better off not buying these until the kinks are worked out.
I need another box for my golf cart, not sure if I really want to go with Luyuan until the kinks are worked out. If you watched the video, you should notice I did not review the product- no pros or cons. Hopefully these improve. I have enough things to build, I'm really not in the mood to modify another box.
which one was / is cheaper ?I agree. I bought an EEL 48v 280k box at the same time as the luyuan. The EEL arrived first. I put it together first. It was nice.
Then I put together the Luyuan. Its similar, but the details are different. Im a tinkerer, It was 40% more expensive. I dont know what one I will buy next.
