these are the new EVE 230ah cells with that they called welded studs.... instead of welding a stud on they weld a threaded nutplate on..... you can see its welded......and appears to be alloy and not aluminum ...

i org ordered welded studs and got these ugh... i hope they work... the supplier conviently marked the shippment express so alibaba closed the refund period before they even arrived by boat...

Interesting. I had not seen that arrangement before.

A few important things:
1) please keep us informed of how well they work.
2) Who did you buy from? Please provide a link.
3) What size threads are those?
4) Can you tell if they a stainless steel studs?

They look like they provide similar contact surface so they should work as well electrically as the welded male studs from Amy.
It looks like there are sufficient threads so if they are stainless steel studs they should alleviate the stripping issue. However, mechanically there is at least one benefit to these and one downside to these.
* The benefit is that you can put whatever length grub screw you need on the terminal. Being able to select stud size is primarily a benefit when you are paralleling several cells and need thick bars. (Amy's standard size male welded stud does not work with 1/4" thick home made bus bars very well.)
* The downside is that this is going to create a taller connection. The height difference is small enough that it should still fit in most installs. However, there is a second problem with height that should be noted: By lifting the bus-bar and cable lug up off the cell terminal, it creates a moment arm that will amplify any stress placed on the terminal. This makes it all the more important that the cells are assembled into a battery in a way that does not create stress on the terminals.
- The cells should be clamped together in a way that does not allow them to move relative to each other.
- The large wires for the battery positive and negative should be as flexible as possible and clamped down in a way that will minimize any stress.
In addition, with the taller connection, there is more exposed conducting material that is just asking for me to drop a wrench across.....

Ah geez.
More threads less conductivity.
I suggest if possible..
Check the datasheet and do a discharge test as close as possible to the max rated continuous discharge current.
See how hot those protuberances get.

More threads less conductivity.
The conductivity of the connection is primarily a factor of the surface area of the pad cell presents. This is clearly less surface area of just the alluminum pad with a tapped hole, but it looks similar to the pad on Amy's welded studs.

It was the alloy bit that concerned me.

I assumed @nwredneck253 was indicating that the nerp was an aluminum alloy presumably so the tapped threads would be a bit more durable.
I could be wrong.

I guess I will find out how durable as usual when you don't get what you order from alibaba getting any refund is non existent...

I have 78 amp cells with the same thing. Worked well. I like them.

Why not ask the supplier what alloy the posts are composed of? I would want to know.
