EG4 18kPV Q+A general thread

My EG4 is reporting 245.4 for the sync wires I have hitting the grid lugs on one of the units.

My various independent sensors read:

10 PANEL: Black leg 2023-12-07 11:10:45.000 -0700 120.0
11 PANEL: Red leg 2023-12-07 11:10:45.000 -0700 120.2
12 Air Conditioner 2023-12-07 11:10:45.000 -0700 241.2
13 Grid Power 2023-12-07 11:10:45.000 -0700 246.1
14 EV Charger 2023-12-07 11:10:45.000 -0700 240.9
15 Hot Water / Dryer 2023-12-07 11:10:45.000 -0700 241.0
16 Chargeverter 2023-12-07 11:10:45.000 -0700 246.1

13 is the grid side of my transfer switch, 16 is the bleed line that goes to a chargeverter, and the inverter, So I'm seeing something less than a 1v discrepancy.

I don't think it really matters too much but you seem pretty far off the mark. The other voltages are outputs from my inverters at the panel. Looks like a calibration error.

Make sure you look at them side-by-side I've seen a lot of float on my grid voltage.

I am noticing, if I turn my PV input off and let the ac coupled inverter run by itself. My voltage drops. But with the PV added it starts climbing.

I would be looking at your grid control settings, it seems like your inverter is trying to push more voltage back to the grid for reasons unknown but I suspect settings.

I've been running off grid since 11/14. The latest firmware is in my inverter now. I decided to turn the grid back on because I'd like a little more heat in the morning in the master as the fireplace takes a little bit to get up to steam, so I plan to use heat strips on the downstairs hvac for 20-30 minutes on cold (20's) mornings, just until I can land on a damn mini split.

It was a cloudy day all day, but the panels pulled their weight. The inverter kept pulling power from the grid instead of the batteries. Flipping back and forth between the 2. I thought surely, with the latest firmware this issue would be resolved but now I think my inverters got a thing for grid power. Why does my inverter hate me?

I did a search and could not find an answer, but I did find one person asking the same question.

Is there a way to reset the statistic on the 18? i.e. Solar Yield, Battery, Feed and Consumption?

I saw a reset somewhere.

Are there delays on the EG418kpv and Powerwall? I ordered them both on November 23rd, but nothing has shipped yet and I've received no estimate. I'm in Arizona.

Yes CTs are connected. Here is the webpage. I don't think I can see all the settings for some reason. I've seen other members post their webpage with a lot more settings showing.

@Markus_EG4 said he changed some voltage and hz settings for me. I don't see the change on the inverter though, maybe something I can't see?

I will report back if this setting helped tomorrow. So far it is working well per the screenshot.

I saw a post on FB from a Signature customer service gal and I believe she said the Power Pro's will be arriving today and shipping out in 3-5 days. I ordered mine on the 24th so I hope so.

I noticed something cool yesterday, the EG4 18kpv throttled the charging current as the batteries approached full.
But why is this info not always displayed on the web monitoring ? You have to click on the battery.

BMS Limit Charge: 300 A - had changed to 150 A when batteries were around 95%
BMS Limit Discharge: 600 A
BMS Charge: true
BMS Discharge: true
BMS Force Charge: false

Just added this and still tweaking sir

Your inverter doesn't hate you guy, you just needed Jarrett from SS to commission the thing, because your a technological dumbass.

Your right, bro, and please don't call me names.
Jarrett is a solid dude. Really nice guy and even sent me a thumb drive, personally, to get the latest firmware going as I couldn't get the goddamn original dongle to work to save my life. He also sent a different dongle and it worked with little effort. Damn near plugged itself in.
I am a happy camper and I'm truly glad that I made the decision to spend my $ with Sig. Solar. Between Kodi answering every little stupid question I had, sometimes twice, and Jarrett making it whole, I feel great about what I've done.
