Install and Operation of the SUNGOLD 10KW 48V SPLIT PHASE SOLAR INVERTER

Ok lets try this. Why did you shut it down. Trust me this isn't trying to find something you did wrong its trying to figure out how to get around the problem.

Also are the breakers and the rocker switch turned on?

Yes.....this is all important no matter how painful. :(

He seems to have an early release version which might explain some of the problems he has had. Hopefully they will ship him the needed parts monday and get him back up and running. Were thinking the controller board is dead.

Damn! Sure seems like something major broke!

I was actually thinking about this sort of thing happening now that I'm kinda (but not totally) reliant on my 10k48. What if it broke? Dagger in the heart! :(

Make sure you have a transfer switch to go back to the grid if something goes wrong is a good first step. Having more than one unit isn't a bad idea either but expensive.

Yep. That's my setup so no worries there. I'd be way more concerned if this was an isolated off grid system. But I'd almost certainly have other backup if that were the case (gasoline generation etc).

Guys I got a major problem here. I powered everything down and my inverter won’t come back on. Everything is hooked up correct but it won’t start up. Just dark. I see a red light on boardView attachment 178461View attachment 178460
I'm sure you will get it figured out. Have you contacted SGP yet? Fortunately you already have plenty of photos to send them so they can see it's nothing on your end.
When you say powered everything down, did you disconnect power input connections as well?
What power in is connected when you see the red light?
Did you use a pre charge resistor before you turned the batteries back on?
There is a fuse on the main positive input, did you check for voltage before and after that with the battery connected?
Dumb question, you have the switch on the bottom right side on, correct?

I see @Crowz is already helping, thank you.

No such thing as a dumb question. I forgot to turn on the AC power switch at first and couldn't figure out why no AC input/charging. ...

P.S. I'm tempted to buy another battery with the Black Friday Sale...coulda saved a bit if I'd waited a bit. :)

Yeah I’ve covered most of those things

She’s done for. Hoping SGP offers some sort of help.

Extremely disapponting

I’m tracking the issue here

Not sure if that model has it or not but I just discovered a reset button near the AC in on my 6548 the other day and it's not even mentioned in the manual. It's kind of hidden.

Just got the USB-> RJ11 connector for monitoring the batteries. And as expected it works same as the Current Connected cable. It's not nearly as long though so can't put my Pi up on top of the inverter the same way. :)

I'll let it run for a bit to see if it loses connection the same way. LOL!

Now to get some screwdrivers and rip the cover off this sucker looking for @Lighthouse Beacon 's red light. :) :) :)

As reported over there the red light in the center board back of Inverter is normally on.

also... my Sungold SA/Pi USB-> RJ11 cable is plugged in and working and has not disconnected as of yet...about 30-45 minutes and the other one seemed to disconnect quite readily after a few minutes.

Will continue to watch and report

What I'd really like to do is get a couple of full cycles on these batteries to see if it has any effect on my displayed discrepancy between Load/PV/Battery Watts...
Odds of that are very slim though given the weather, my limited panels etc. Unless I do a force charge from the Grid which I'd rather not do while I'm in evaluation mode regarding my grid usage/power bill....

Does anyone know if we’ve got a reset on SPH10K48SP

Not that I'm aware of.
Have you tried connecting to the PC via USB to see if you can communicate with the desktop software?
No I don’t know how to do that.
It’s bricked though.

could be that round display! I know, I know, not funny... not funny...

Not to be pedantic, but you have disconnected it from everything right.... AC, Battery, Solar and then just added one back in... say battery or AC and nothing right?
