I will be upgrading my inverter that has ring terminals for the battery connection, to a Victron Phoenix VE.Direct that has screw terminals... do I have any other choice than to cut off the ring terminals on my new conductors?
I'm working on a design for an enclosure and I'm trying to plan/plot how I will route and connect the wires so that I end up with the cleanest possible look.
The enclosure will house a combiner box, charge controller, an inverter, battery switch, shunt and bus bars.
Does anyone have diagrams...
Hi
New guy here.
I seem to be having battery problems. I started with 6 batteries at first now I'm down now a new set of 4.
A couple days ago, my charge controller screen started behaving erratic... voltage readings were bouncing all over, warnings popping up on screen etc. After checking...
I have an Epever VS6048AU charge controller and on it's technical sheet I saw that the low voltage disconnect for the batteries is at 11.1V (for sealed, gel and flooded)
This is a big problem, right???!
If it's allowing the batteries to discharge that low before disconnecting (and I have...
My solar installer set up my system with the output of the pure sine wave inverter feeding into a 30A breaker panel via one of the inverter's 15A AC outlets. The output of that breaker is wired into the main breaker panel of the home which is currently off-grid.
After reading a bit about...
I'm a fairly new system builder; I'm looking for ways to mount more of the other equipment (battery switch, shunt etc.) to DIN rails
can anyone advise me or point me to a good source for DIN rail accessories if I'll have to go the DIY route?
I have a small, cheap 400W inverter (see attached picture) with a noisy fan that is always on... my question is, would the performance/lifespan of the inverter suffer without that fan?
I have a few of those rechargeable LED bulbs and something strange started happening recently...
Details:
My home is off-grid and is usually powered via the inverter's AC output going into the main breaker panel... right now the inverter isn't connected to the panel but devices are connected...
I had two 12V batteries connected in series (24V) to a 2000W inverter.
One night I disconnected the main negative from the battery to try-out my new SmartShunt. The lugs on my cables were too small for the shunt so I reconnected the cable to the battery and turned my inverter back on.
The...
I have two 12V 390W batteries connected in series to a 24V 2000W inverter and a 60A charge controller.
If I try turning on my 5 cu. ft. fridge, my inverter will "trip" and start beeping. At least I think it's because of the inverter or maybe it's the charge controller? OR maybe I simply don't...
My solar panels are grounded to the battery negative and there are grounds in both AC breaker panels (30A sub panel and main home panel) which are fed via a grounded AC plug from the inverter. The inverter is a "cheap Chinese" pure sine wave inverter and there's no manual for me to look at...
I've noticed that "Total Network Power" would sometimes show up for a split second in the VictronConnect app and then disappear
After a recent app update I'm getting the same behaviour with what looks to be a very useful "feature" but again, they're disappearing so I'm wondering what that's...
I have a system of four 350W panels (40.2V, 8.7A) in a 2S2P config... my 35A charge controller reads the incoming array voltage at 80+V which I expect but the amps barely hits 2A when charging a single 12V 105Ah battery... is this normal/ok?
I'm just curious because I've noticed that if I turn off my solar panel array, the fan in my little inverter will slow down, but when the array is on and there's power going to the battery, the fan runs faster... is the inverter getting power from battery AND array or is the battery bypassed and...
Recently I've noticed that even with the breakers in my solar array combiner box turned off, I still get a voltage reading on my digital multimeter
This can't be normal, right?
I'm just curious about the wiring in my combiner box — the wiring goes as follows:
(See attached photo)
One positive (+) from the 2S2P solar panel array goes into the first breaker, the second positive (+) goes to the second breaker, then out of both breakers into the surge suppressor's...
I have a PWM charge controller with USB ports that I use all the time but I'm going MPPT now so my question is...
is there a way to connect both controllers where the MPPT does everything but the PWM is just there for USB power?
