I have 14 100 w panels that have voc of 24.5 and isc of 4.5. I know I should run the volts high as the unit requires 90voc to run. I can safely run two strings parallel and stay under the max amps of 12. Does it matter if I run all 14 in series or should I run 2 parallel strings of 7 panels in series?

What are the max input volts of the EG4? Is there an MPPT (optimized) range?

14x 24.5Voc = 345Voc
What is the max temp your array will see? This is necessary to calc temp adjusted Voc.
stay under the max amps of 12.
Is this the max the EG4 will pull or is it the max amps that are polarity protected or ??

Max voc input is 380. For temp low in East Tex has only gotten to single digits twice in the last 20 years/ high 110. Max amps for unit is 12v.

That 12A is a hard maximum upper limit on Isc. I was told at the time of order (with SS) to definitely not exceed it, and in fact, stay below it, if possible. My array Isc is about 10A, and I had to be very careful what panels I used, to keep it down there.

Do note that Isc (and Voc) can vary (increase) as panel temp decreases, so verify that your array's Isc will stay below 12A and Voc will stay below 380V...under ALL conditions. Most panel specs have a graph to show how panel performance varies with temp.
