I'd just like to give a Thumbs Up and Kudos to Amy Zheng and Docan Technology for their recent service on my purchase of 16 EVE 304 Ah batteries and a Seplos 280L Vertical DIY Battery Box.

- Amy was very responsive, gave straight forward responses to all questions regarding shipping and pricing. She must monitor her message channel 24 hours a day, there was never a long wait for her reply.
- All items received in excellent condition and shipping was very fast particularly for the US Stock
-Pricing was very competitive I used PayPal for the piece of mind they offer.

I'm sure many folks here on the forum are a bit leery about ordering from Alibaba -or any distributor from China. I heard a lot of horror stories. Suffice to say that my experience with Amy and Docan exceeded my expectations.

Just thought you guys would like to know.

Cheers!

What are they charging for 304 cells these days including shipping?

The 16 304Ah EVE batteries were delivered to me in Florida from their USA warehouse for a total $1848 including the PayPal fee. $1015.50 per battery. On their website they advertise those batties for $110 each.

I spent the weekend provisioning the new inverters and building the Seplos battery. It was a lot of work, I needed to rewire 4 existing load circuits, rewire the well pump to 230 voltage and decommission the old solar charge controller. I also had to rewire all 20 PV panels to achieve a high enough voltage to get this all to work. The only remaining issues are communication to both inverters and the battery. I simply ran out of time getting connected so everything is running on auto-pilot default setting until I get back out to the property this weekend. Here's a picture of my install.

Was that price inclusive of the Seplos box? If not, how much did that run you?

Just received 2 battery packs from Docan. They are each 300ah, supposed to be EVE 304 grade a cells. (It’s sealed so have to trust). Amy was my contact. Shipped via UPS to me from Houston @ $400 each pack. They were 95% SOC out of the box. No frills except an LCD voltage/charge % and Bluetooth. Unreal price IMHO. These suckers are heavy! Boondocking on the horizon - should power my 12v fridge, 2k inverter and all the RV 12v stuff for several days without sun.

Battery voltage is useless for SOC, not sure what the purpose of that display is for.

What BMS is used? What app do you use to communicate?

The LCD shows 99% SOC but only wakes up if I connect a trickle charge to the pack. It’s got the JDB 12 200 amp. Trying to find a manual for the bluetooth. Any help would be appreciated.

Turned out to be a Broken balance wire on #3. Nice thing was the case was sealed with silicone not epoxy so disassembly was not to hard. Oddly the battery pack is enclosed in a metal box inside of the plastic case. The metal box is riveted together so getting a look at the cells would require drilling out all of the rivets. And the bus bars are welded to the posts. Makes me wonder if there is a supplier out there building these and selling to the dozens of companies who simply drop them in a case and slap their sticker on it.

Ive been looking at getting some CATL cells from Docan, only problem is shipping to New Zealand.
Amy tells me that the shipping cost is more than the batteries themselves.
Any ideas on third party shipping out of China? Any other suppliers that I could go to?

Got a link for these? I've got a DIY pack and looking to add another, this is a great price for 300ah. Any other issues?

As follow up when received both packs were not working. Amy asked me to open them up and look for u plugged or broken wire. She said she would replace the cells, BMS, or case if needed. Obviously they wanted to avoid having to return and refund.

Battery #1 had a broken BMS wire to cell #3, 2 minute fix.
Battery #2 one of the wiring connectors to the BMS had come loose, the slack silicone sealer they used to retain it missed the connector.

Have #1 on my charger now and will report on the cell quality. Cell Voltages are all within a few hundreds of each other. Impossible to view the actual cells as they are inside a Stella case that is riveted together and the apparently the bus bars are welded.

I think the take away is Docan is still Focused on the DIY’er. Minimal warranty, need to be ready to solve problems yourself, great price. If the cells stand up then cheaper than buying components separately.

Amy is fantastic. I have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars with her, and I send people to her all the time. She does a great job of making sure that everything is perfect.

But, while it does impress me when somebody can do things right the first time, what really impresses me I'm really makes a big impression, is when they fix a problem at great cost to them.

One time Amy had accidentally sent me a 16S BMS when I had ordered a 4S BMS. I contacted her about it. And it seems that by mistake it was shipped to me. Unfortunately the last 4S BMS in the United States was now gone. She did not have one. She contacted one of her customers who has a retail store out in California. She made a deal with him and he overnighted it to me. No additional cost. I was absolutely amazed by how they had handled this.

Based on that alone I will purchase from Amy as long as they are in business

Finally finished the capacity test and repairs on these two battery packs. Was able to pull 305 amp hours from full, charge to BMS cutoff. After opening both cases and fixing the broken wire and the BMS cable that had pulled out in shipping both packs are ready to install. Must say for $400 each for 300 ah I guess the hassle of getting them working and tested was worth it.

Things I learned. The LCD monitor on the case is next to worthless. Tries to calculate SOC from voltage which is nonsensical for a LiPoFe4 battery. The Bluetooth works well and with the JBD app can set most all parameters. The BMS and the Victron smart shunt were pretty close in their calculations, differed by about 0.25% over 300 ah. The studs on the batteries are a bit short. I think when I make my final battery cables I will include one of the shunt leads in the crimped lugs with the main cable just to keep the ‘stack’ thin enough to get a good tight cap over them. While the case is pretty big and heavy the inside of the case has about a fourth of the space empty which should help with heat dissipation, the actual cells are enclosed in a metal case inside the plastic case.

DOCAN is sold out on these so glad I scored a couple. In retrospect I should have gotten a third one which would have pretty much finished out my long term plan for the Motorhome.
