SRNE 20KW parallel ASP journey.

You're a genius @Wessss77 , thank you!

I adjusted setting 11, float, to 55.2V and was able to raise setting 37 to 54V then I dropped float back down and confirmed both settings stuck.

PS it's really nice having 2 units in parallel I was able to adjust 37 on 1 and 11 on the other. Any changes made to 1 automatically transfer to the other, precious seconds saved pressing up and down in the menu settings.
 
This morning I was reviewing the ASP manual to the SGP manual and the descriptions for each setting was easier to follow/understand in the ASP one.

I got my first response back from support and regarding setting 71 they want a video of me flipping through the settings. They also provided the same response I've seen elsewhere on setting A must be greater than setting C which is greater than setting Z etc.. The only one that didn't belong was setting 5.

I think the expectation in the support documentation is more around reducing grid and having battery as backup as opposed to solar and battery with grid as backup. Either way we got what we want except for setting 71... Which may not matter... I'm playing with using L16 today to see how the solar priority may change.

I previously asked Borick about the missing setting 71, and they also requested a video of scrolling through the menus. Then they responded that setting 71 is a reserved setting that will be removed (from documentation, I assume) later.
 
They have been performing flawlessly.

I do notice some odd reporting in SA under the inverter tab. I think the battery total power is off because SA reports what each inverter is reporting under the inverter # but uses total power from the BMSs .

BMSs are definitely not accurate, I'll connect them tomorrow and make sure all settings are identical (except battery capacity).

2 packs of 230AH EVE
1 pack of 280AH REPT
1 pack of 305AH BatteroTech

They seem quite happy together.
When I add the next pack I'm planning on paralleling the 230AH EVE together on one 300A BMS.

I'm also going to do some serious wire management on the BMS leads, I got to the point when I said f it to get things together...

I really regret not purchasing more spare cells / running 17S, I would have gained a few KWh of storage.
 
Ya I have a straight pack of 10 ea 100ah pouch cell they all tie into a 6 foot busbar of 1.5"X1/4“ copper bar but only the (+) positive side... I'm gonna take and cut it in half so I can have a shorter bus bar for the negative side too. Right now all the negatives are just Daisy chained.

Wow. I've been using power like crazy the past week, 90s during the day high 60s- low 70s at night.
Really need to get another minisplit, my 12K and old window shaker are barely keeping up.

I don't currently foresee myself needing the parallel capability in the foreseeable future, but price wise the ASP doesn't seem much more expensive.

Is there any reason not to just buy the ASP aside from slightly more $$?

With the price difference being less than $100 I'm surprised that they made two models here.

First model is the ASF - then the ASP came a year or two later, they can sell more by making a model that can be sold in pairs (or triples)

I have the HYP currently and it has been pretty solid, but expanding from 5KW of PV to 10KW , so I either need to buy a second HYP or more likely I'm just going to replace it with a ASP48100U200-H. Due to the high standby consumption of the HYP it seems like it will be more efficient to just go with one ASP unit.

Amateur question but my current HYP is just 110V wired in to a power strip. (off grid, so basically refrigerator, starlink) So I will be really be upping my game here and need to hire an electrician to do some internal wiring, but when ordering the ASP it is listed as 120Vac single phase / 240Vac Split phase. Does this mean the voltage can be selected, or do I need to specify which voltage?

I didn't have any issues running more than I normally would at any given time. I haven't really pushed them above 15KW, yet.
I was running the electric dryer, oven, induction cooktop, (can't remember if the countertop convention oven was on too, I think it was) , water distiller, 12k BTU mini split, small window unit, along with the rest of the house (lights, ceiling fans, fridge, chest freezer, dehumidifier could have been running in the basement). I got bored running stuff, it was nice out. .
They also had no issue handling the well pump while I had 8KW of other loads running.
This weekend I'll try to really load them down with the dryer, stove burners, oven, etc and get them up around 20KW.

TLDR - I'd have no problems not worrying about load management while living everyday life. I may be semi cautious when I eventually add an EV depending how fast I'm charging it.

The HYP should be ~50W, the ASP is ~100W. It may be slightly more efficient but probably not much.

No need to worry about selecting (you can select 110V or 120V, you'd want the default 120V.)
Each leg will put out 120V to neutral or 240V between L1 and L2. There are a bunch of phots of voltage measurements in the 2nd post that might help explain it better.

The ASP is basically 2 HYPs in a single box.

This right here is the reason for the grid. Use the grid for the car. If you got power left over and have exhausted or completed all the other household "work" like that valuable distiller action, than a nice quick pump of stage 2 would be pretty slick during the summer while your out enjoying the nice weather for a couple hours.

I can't argue that but this is all a big test for when I find my dream spot to build my completely off grid location someday, hopefully soon. The grid has also screwed me enough times that I don't trust it or rely on it.
 
@42OhmsPA just curious about fan noise in comparison with the asf. Mine gets fairly loud around 5k of either solar production and load.
