Anyone received their EG4 PowerPro ESS Bundle yet?

I placed an order for the EG4 PowerPro ESS bundle (EG4-18Kpv & EG4-PowerPro WallMount Battery) mid August with an ETA of mid September.

Nothing has shipped yet, and checking the website it looks like things have changed to mid October.

Has anyone received their bundle yet? I haven't heard anything from SS on an updated ship date, or if the OCT deadline is for the most recent orders.

They are waiting on UL9540 to be a thing for the powerpro, they claim to be shipping within 2-3 weeks. Multiple people waiting, I don’t think it’s a cash grab. Pretty sure they want to ship these out before people get disappointed and start the cancellations

Got an email that says the 18kpv shipped, still nothing on the powerpro. I called they said still pending still on certs. Looks like it might be closer to ship!

I'm considering purchasing this bundle so I can tie it into the grid-tie system we are having installed early next year. Since I'm in Alberta, Canada, I'm always looking for the most cost effective way to get products across the border and back to my place. I have imported many items in the past and have used the strategy that @Nan_wpg has shared on this forum in another post (https://diysolarforum.com/threads/s...canada-from-signature-solar.46639/post-812395).

I have found this to be the most cost effective way to get US products imported into Canada but would like to know if anyone else North of the 49th has found a better solution, OR, if there is a better bundled product then what EG4 has built.

@Will Prowse - You may know this but there is a massive push by our Federal government to have Canadians to start moving to green technology (https://natural-resources.canada.ca/energy-efficiency/homes/canada-greener-homes-initiative/24831). Do you have any recommendation on what products us Canadians should be looking at when it comes to hybrid inverters and LFP battery arrays? I found this product from Solar Power Store but @Nan_wpg did mention there was a poor ordering experience from them. I'd like to investigate & learn more about this product.

On a side note, I finally picked up your book and am using it to get my camper outfitted with a 24V LFP setup. Thanks so much for all your years of amazing content and being a reliable source of information for all of us!

if your reasonably close to Coutts I’d just drive down to pick up your stuff. I can almost garantee there’s a parcel company just across the us border.

im in Winnipeg so we’re an hour from the border. We will either just drive down to pick up, or we drive a bit further for a mini grandforks getaway. If we stay more than 48 hours wife and I can claim 1600 duty/tax free. This usually pays for our mini, trip.

most electronics will have zero duty. Lfp batteries are supposed to have a 7% duty, but when I brought my SOK rack across we were just charged gst/pst.

well well worth the effort for savings. The shipping and broker charges are bad in Canada.

I ordered mine around the same time as you, early August for mid-September delivery. Just got my system on Tuesday and working on the install this weekend.

Hey! I just posted this on another thread but I saw this here too so I wanted to share the same information:
If you pre-ordered your PowerPro, the first shipment is expected to be shipped out by the end of November. There are more shipments on their way to us and those are expected to begin shipping by early December. We are experiencing widespread popularity and the PowerPro is currently in very high demand, but we are working extremely hard to fulfill this surge for you all!

SS just sent me an email stating the the PowerPro ESS batteries have arrived and are being readied for shipment next week.
Some! Some have arrived! ? The first shipment that was held in customs is being processed. We do not have an exact shipping date on your order but I will be updating you with that next week Mr onetwo! Depending on when your order was placed this unfortunately doesn't apply to everyone who is waiting just yet as this shipment is already spoken for. We're still working hard, even during the holidays, to get these out and keep our customers updated on the status. We appreciate your patience so much! ??

I got mine a few weeks ago -- but the damn things weigh so much -- they are still sitting on my front porch :)

Trying to find a local installer that will touch the project. No luck so far.

How are folks moving these battery systems.
I’ve disassembled the crate, but I can’t move the battery or even get straps underneath as it is laying flat!
I bought a lift table, but I can’t get the battery out of the crate.

A friend and a wife to help stand it up. A friend to walk it on a dolly upright like r2d2. Ratchet straps to the dolly and a two man dolly move down a flight of stairs.

We are both relatively strong guys and it wasn't pleasant.

I had to screw the pallet to the trailer to keep it from moving, then I stood it upright. Yeah for one person it’s crazy heavy. Then used a car jack and the tail gate to lift it on the bracket. It brought back memories when I wrecked my Hayabusa. And had to pick it up out of the road.

I was lucky that my delivery guy actually dropped the pallet in my garage and now I'm looking at a stack of three batteries and thinking oh shit how am I going to do this.
I'm thinking some straps and two guys on each strap and just lift them off the pallet onto the floor then de-palletize and carefully extract from there they'll be easy enough to move with a hand cart.

I was going to use my tractor. But I abandoned the idea because the sides are plastic.

I have thought about the tractor too. I have forks that bolt to the front of the bucket but my tractor is too small to take any meaningful load on the forks.
So maybe I can slide the battery into the bucket to get it to the ground, I can handle it from there.

Fortunately the delivery guy was able to get it into the garage. I gently used a pry bar and blocks of wood to give some finger space. Then I took the upper side panels off, gave me a little more handhold to lift upright. Straps and engine host from there. Same for getting it on the wall, but I attached the conduit box to act as a spreader bar for the straps.

Note on the side panel screws, use a narrow #2 phillips, a #1 is likely to strip the heads. One side had the screw heads buried in the plastic and I almost had to drill them out.
