Did you try the reset procedure Kenny mentioned? No updates. This is not something I'd like to test or deal with often at all
The SRNE hybrid inverter I have (HYP) has a ton of built in safety features, including Load output short circuit protection When a short-circuit fault occurs at the load output terminal, the AC output is immediately turned off. Which this is a feature I can't see why you'd want to disable. This is exactly the issue. Inverter reacted faster than the breaker and you need to reset it manually in order to clear the error code.
Never heard of rbco. This would be the perfect solution if this problem persists. As far as a gfci not working, it was wired incorrectly and was 100% my fault. Thanks for the tipThe SRNE hybrid inverter I have (HYP) has a ton of built in safety features, including Load output short circuit protection When a short-circuit fault occurs at the load output terminal, the AC output is immediately turned off. But, that being said, instead of using a standard Breaker, you might have had better results with a different style breaker, the RCBO style - Residual current Circuit breaker with over and short current Leakage protection?
In another post I saw something mentioned about what I assumed was you mentioning GFCI tripping? Care to elaborate?
Did you get the ASF to power up and clear the fault?Never heard of rbco. This would be the perfect solution if this problem persists. As far as a gfci not working, it was wired incorrectly and was 100% my fault. Thanks for the tip
Yes. Problem is it's a nuisance if I'm not around. Wish it would reset itself. That is allDid you get the ASF to power up and clear the fault?
I'm confusedYes. Problem is it's a nuisance if I'm not around. Wish it would reset itself. That is all
Exactly. If I get a direct short while not around I damn sure want it to shut down as fast as possible!I'm confused
What's causing it when you aren't around? How do you reset it / clear it?
You reset it by turning off both pv and grid input. The cause was user wiring error. My concern is some idiot doing idiot things when I'm not there and losing power until I'm able to reset it manually.I'm confused

I see. Well I'm glad you were able to figure it out and nothing went up in smoke. You reset it by turning off both pv and grid input. The cause was user wiring error. My concern is some idiot doing idiot things when I'm not there and losing power until I'm able to reset it manually.
IT WAS ME. I'M THE IDIOTI see. Well I'm glad you were able to figure it out and nothing went up in smoke.
Hopefully you can find a wiser wiring idiot ?
Been there many times, I feel better when I call them learning experiences. I've learned a lot over the years...IT WAS ME. I'M THE IDIOT
I doubt it will happen again and even it did, the protection is doing what it should. You reset it by turning off both pv and grid input. The cause was user wiring error. My concern is some idiot doing idiot things when I'm not there and losing power until I'm able to reset it manually.
This comment took me down a long path of looking at trip curves. Now my head hurtsI doubt it will happen again and even it did, the protection is doing what it should.
I'm not sure how you did this but one thing that stands out is the breaker for the circuit did not trip before the inverter internal protection kicked in. Either the breaker is defective or the fault path did not cause the breaker to trip. The purpose of an EGC is to provide a low impedence path back to the breaker panel. This low impedence path will draw high current, thus tripping the breaker. Even if the breaker was oversized for the circuit but lower than the inverter internal protection, it still should trip in a short event.
No, the only changes that were made was taking 1 mppt offline a few days prior and utilizing SA to switch charge source priority, frequently. Not related to the panel swap I presume...
Hello,Hi
Im interested in trying out this iinverter but I like to know if the inverter has a PC software for monitoring and changing the parameters of the inverter like mpp or EG4 inverter
Same exact experience. By the time I grabbed the manual and looked up the code it was goneSome updates.
I had my first reportable issue Wednesday.
When I got home around sunset I heard the SRNE beeping, went to check it out and saw the fault light lit... I was bummed.
Everything was still working fine. The fault on the display was 12. It means a communication error. It went away within a few minutes of looking up the fault code in the manual and getting a picture.
Thank you.I noticed the beta for solar assistant that released yesterday mentions things that seem related to this inverter in case no one noticed it.
I'd really like to get the root cause of the error. It hasn't been back and everything is working fine. This makes 3 fault 12 reports, 2 SRNE 1 SGP.Same exact experience. By the time I grabbed the manual and looked up the code it was gone
