I use a Raspberry pi/Venus for a Cerbo GX. Works really well EXCEPT, several times a day the BMV-712 gets "disconnected" and I have to reboot the Cerbo/Rsp.

The USB to VE-Direct cables are DIY.

Also, the odd (bad) thing is before installing the Cerbo/Rsp the Victron MPPT Bluetooth connection was so unreliable when connecting to VictronConnect- it had to be clicked many, many times before I could get a display of the data and even then the connection would "drop" in a few seconds. Now with the Rsp I don't have that problem but have the problem with the BMV being dropped.

Yes, I checked my connections.

Thanks

Well, here's what I did to remedy the problem;

Used a different usb port on the Rsp. Also, reseated the pins on the DIY VE-direct cables.

So far....so good.

Solved the problem- I put 2 of the 3 USB cables into a USB port extender gadget. So, 2 USB cables are a few inches away from the Rsp. Only 1 of the USB cables is connected to the Rsp. Yes, the USB extender (or whatever it's called) is connected to the Rsp also.

So far in the past 13 days the Rsp has only "dropped" the BMV connection one time.
