Docan 280 EVE cells - 2023 Quality check (update: Bad experience - scam beware)

I just got my JK BMS today and plan to build the battery. So in the next 3-4 days I will know if they pull full capacity or not.

However as I want to be 100% sure Bms’s B- (blue cable) goes to main battery - and P- goes to - in my inverter right?

I have everything else figured out, I’m asking just to be sure

P- connection is not very clear on the diagram.

Update:

fyi: batteries don't pull full capacity through my inverter..

I did a dispute on Alibaba which did not go well. they asked me to talk with eve and confirm my batteries are grade B. I tried that with 2 emails but eve won't answer me back. I guess they want nothing to do with it.

The dispute case on Alibaba closed in favour of docan.

I then opened a case in PayPal and I told them everything plus I uploaded pictures etc. Now they also ask me to send the same pictures to someone (could be EVE, or an expert) to prove they are counterfeit.

They also give me a second choice: return them back, however I asked the local shipping company and they ask for 200-250€ just to return them. So I am gonna loose at least 200 euros if I decide to go that way.

Do you guys know any expert that I could send photos etc. to reply to me back with an answer that I can use?

I am trying to get some money back as I paid grade A and I got used/grade B, I should at least pay for grade B if I am gonna keep them. I paid 140euros per cell while NKON sells grade B for about 110(no tax).. If I knew I would go that way..

Any help would be great!

How far off were they? If a few amp hours ... What did you pay? (I'm sure it's in the thread somewhere)

Have you priced what true grade A cells cost? Maybe you didn't really over pay that much for grade B (or maybe even not at all), albeit you wanted and expected grade A.

I'd probably use them instead of shipping them back. Get some refund if you can. And buy and parallel in "real" grade A when you add to the battery bank.

Sorry for all the issues you had xrostostits, it would have been better for Docan just to refund you then to deal with all the bad press. I think they are going to have a hard time selling these cells now everyone is aware of the true condition. As someone said earlier these are now no longer even grade B they are fraud grade cells.

You may not have gotten all your money back but I think you got a good "Revenge" by making everyone else aware of what is going on.

Thanks for the reply.

I just want to help others and make this thing stop.

I haven’t got any money back and I don’t know if I ever will get anything back

About capacity I can only get around 12kw - 240ah.

I did try to resolve everything with docan, or alibaba and now I am trying to do the same with PayPal however due to the item showing a legit barcode and the old being scratched there are no more things that I can do.

Only if a battery specialist replies to an email or EVE to tell me that yes this is a relasered battery I can prove that I am right and only through PayPal.

Btw is there any battery specialist around here that I could send an email with photos and videos that could send me a reply?

Alibaba completely lets these people scam buyers. I would advise to not buy through alibaba from sellers who are not well known.

240ah I payed 132€ per cell

I am pretty sure I overpayed.

That sucks man 240AH... Probably are testing to like 250 Ah directly, I have seen these Grade B 280 test in the 250-260 range on a zke-40.

Just want to add a comment to the reselling of a OEM’s product that does not meet their in house spec by another company. Usually there is a method for release of liability so the product does not come back to the original manufacture with the product for an issue or claim. So the original manufacturer removes any of their markings that could link the product back to them before it leaves their warehouse. Plus there would be an agreement between the OEM and the reseller with regards to the same. Some OEMs don’t even bother with going this route because of the risk.

I have LF280Ks, they are definitely grade B, I overpayed, I have about 250AH capacity in each bank of cells, so yeah they aren't the best, but they still work good! I am off grid they only cycle 75 times per year, so I am not too concerned with the life of the battery, it works. I am in the boat of hopefully something even better will come along when they are shot.

I ordered EVE 280k us stock cells from Ducan last Noverber 2022, They arrived swollen and they kept stringing me along untill the return date had passed and Iwas guessing that they would be more than enough power and that they would age out before I could go thru 5000 cycles in my RV. Well guess what! One cell is leaking and another is growing 2 ea 3mm bulges in the case. Ive think I now have over 20 emails with them and there last email said that they were over a year old so no replacement..... BUT THERE NOT A YEAR OLD YET!!!! AND I'VE BARIEY USED THEM...... Where else should I worn others about Ducan?
